I had first met Kevin Kane in early 2009 through the Rick McClain World Martial Arts Center in Mentor, Ohio while seeking a training facility for both myself and my children. I was and continue to be impressed with his vast array of knowledge in addition to his teaching philosophy. Master Kane is truly the type of instructor that sets himself apart from the rest by his consideration and adaptation to each student’s individual needs. I feel he is an asset to the World Martial Arts Center and to me and my children’s continued study of the martial arts.

I have been training with Joel for about 6 months now. He has helped me to improve my MMA and self-defensive techniques. He is working with me on my striking, kicking, boxing, and takedowns. I am impressed with his enthusiastic passion for the sport and martial arts, and his willingness to work at the pace that I need and his patience with giving me the extra time when needed. Joel is always on time and is very flexible with scheduling the days and times that do not interfere with my school and work schedule. The quality of Joel's teaching, techniques, and professionalism is very good. Overall, my experience is positive and there is nothing that I would recommend he changes.

If your looking to learn Martial Arts for Self Defense or for the History of it this is the School to attend. Classes are small which allow the Teachers to work you more closely. I would highly recommend the school to young or old.

Sensei Roger Grimes has instructed our son for the last 3 years, beginning at age 4. Roger is absolutely wonderful with young children. We highly recommend him as an instructor. He teaches the children discipline, but keeps the classes very fun and engaging at the same time.

About

We offer Kodokan Judo instruction. We have black belt instructors in our clubs in the greater East, West, and South Cleveland area. Club locations can be found on our website. Judo is many things to different people. It is a fun sport, an art, a discipline, a recreational or social activity, a fitness program, a means of self-defense or combat, and a way of life. It is all of these and more. Kodokan Judo comes to us from the fighting system of feudal Japan. Founded in 1882 by Dr. Jigoro Kano, Judo is a refinement of the ancient martial art of Jujutsu. Dr. Kano, President of the University of Education, Tokyo, studied these ancient forms and integrated what he considered to be the best of their techniques into what is now the modern sport of Judo. Judo was introduced into the Olympic Games in 1964 and is practiced by millions of people throughout the world today. People practice Judo to excel in competition, to stay in shape, to develop self-confidence, and for many other reasons. Most of all people do Judo just for the fun of it.
