Marie-Josee is a very accessible and knowledgable dog trainer. I've been working with her for about 4 years. She provides practical instruction. She manages expectations about what you and your dog will be able to do and acknowledges when milestones have been reached. Working with Marie-Josee, I've been able to get my challenging pup to do things I'd never thought he'd be able to do, like playing nice with other dogs. Thanks, Marie-Josee!

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I was good at and loved training dogs, so in 2004 I decided it was time in my career to do something that I enjoyed doing. And, I have a great way of helping people understand easy ways to get their dog to do what they want them to do, the first time they ask.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

Private training sessions in people's homes helping them deal with new dogs, basic obedience training and specific problems. Usually, one session is all it takes.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Make sure that they aren't selecting a dog trainer that uses negative training techniques like choker chains and shock collars. There is no need to train a dog this way. You can be loving and positive and your dog will do what you want him to do because he wants the reward, not because he fears you and the punishment of a jerk or shock on his neck.
