I have taken two lessons so far and I am already learning how to play the piano that is both fun and engaging. There are certain challenges to learning piano as an adult and Jessica Knoll is easily able to navigate those challenges.
Details: 26 - 44 years old • No, the student cannot read music • No formal training; some self-taught experience • Classical • Yes, the student has a keyboard • 60 minutes • At the pro’s location • My home, venue, etc. • Remotely (phone or internet)

Jessica is an amazing teacher. She combines musictheory and excellent instruction to provide continues motivation to my sons ages 6 and 8. She pushes them to learn new things and make connections in different ways. They really love her and are falling more deeply in love with playing piano. In addition, her personality is fantastic. She is very cordial and easy-going. She interacts with our three other younger children in a very gracious way. I can't recommend her highly enough. I'd give her 6 out of 5 stars!

Jessica has been teaching my 8 year old son for about a year now and I couldn't be happier. She is excellent with children and has a way of making learning fun! I would definitely recommend her services to anyone, at any level, interested in playing piano.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Pricing is based on a 20 lesson Fall/Spring semester. There are 5 installments of lessons charged for the Fall and the Spring semesters. The Summer semester runs from June through August and the number of lessons in the summer is more flexible.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I recommend scheduling a TRIAL LESSON at my studio location to see if lessons will be a good fit for both the student and myself before moving forward with weekly lessons.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I took Piano Pedagogy classes in undergrad and learned to teach both children and adult students at the University with supervision. I also taught college level group piano courses in grad school. My vocal background is mainly from choir experience throughout undergrad and grad school, studying basic singing pedagogy in grad school, and singing in church. Since 2011, I have worked as a music therapist and taught either traditional or adapted piano and voice lessons to children, teens, and adults in addition to holding music therapy sessions.
