Introduction: I am a Cleveland area violin and viola teacher. I have been teaching for over 10 years with a focus on sound quality, physical movement, scales (music theory) and good rhythm. I was trained at the Cleveland Institute of Music. I have gotten good sound quality down to a science. Good energy and a positive energy is all I require.

Before working with Julian my child was not really engaged in the violin, but for the past two years the excitement has been there. Julian gets into the music and makes the lessons entertaining as well as educational and productive. It is nice that we can have our lesson at home, it makes it much easier for our busy schedules.

Mr. Machala is highly experienced teaching basics to advanced technique. Direct communicator and very professional. Lots of energy in lessons.

Also flexibility. My son is extremely comfortable with Julian. He understands the needs and is friendly as well as demanding. Sometimes due to emergencies or other urgent work, we had to cancel pretty late and he always understands. My son has taken lessons for 2-3 teachers and always has only praise for Julian. Thanks.

I've been taking lessons from Julian for about a year, and he is an excellent teacher. He has focused on developing the best sound I can through developing a solid bow technique. He has a lighthearted personality that makes lessons fun. He's been playing for 20 years and can play any teach any type of music you want to learn, from the basic Suzuki pedagogy to Lindsey Stirling. He is flexible with scheduling, willing to come to you, or can provide a practice space at his studio.
