FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We use a tiered system of pricing, with a minimum required. We go down the scale as more areas are added.Beyond Interstate 270, into the farther suburbs, our pricing can increase in small gradients to cover additional travel time, but certainly nothing that would be considered outrageous. We don;t do business that way,and any additional travel fee is included in the per area charge. Our quotes are inclusive with no-add ons,up sales, gimmicky unnecessary expenditures that add to the total costs. We quote only what the customer request. and include, a bacteriocide, stain workup, and deodorizer as part of the final quote.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We initially send out a quote based upon the customer's request. We then wait for a response via Thumbtack or text message. We then make add ons or subtractions, based upon our ability to interpret their answers. Some requests can be difficult to interpret, so we ask questions within the body of the quote for clarification( ie-whole house reponse-everyone has different size residences or business> stairs? is there a full set of stairs, are they divided into two parts or more? This can make a difference in the cost.. Every carpet company also has different constraints on what they consider an area.Finished basements can often be more than one area, as do family rooms or any expanse of space that is atypical to a normal sized room.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We learned carpet cleaning essentially through our own experience. We began in 1989 with doing regular cleaning at commercial sites and buildings. We observed but didn't like the way "steam" cleaners were cleaning the carpets. They were often wet for exte, and extended periods of time, stains workup was minimal and they covered large areas in small amounts of time. Overall we saw a deficit in the quality and commitment to professional results. We then determined to move back to the old fashioned way of carpet cleaning, where they used commercial rotary brushes attached to scrubbers where the carpet was actually shampooed and cleaned much more thoro.ughly.We determined also that our commitment to quality cleaning would not suffer because of time constraints and scheduling. We made a decision to do it right the first time at the expense of a quick job for profit. We needed to build a name for ourselves but needed to remain small in order to accomplish this goal. After initially procuring HUD contracts on low-rent apartment and home cleaning and working on Section 8 properties, we were able to gradually expand into the suburbs and homes where carpet cleaning is routine and not neglected,as is often the case with any type of government sponsored housing.. We still work with all types of property management , but our job has become easier by virtue of experience and learning the most efficient ways of cleaning. In summary,we learned through the "school of hard knocks" and have applied these techniques to our present day cleaning methods.
