I would highly recommend Sheik-Beatz to teach drum lessons. He recommended the shorter half hour session to gauge not only the attention span of my 4 year old, but his willingness and capability to learn. He also wrote down everything he taught my so. So that we could go home and review with him ourselves. I look forward to continuing lessons!

Joshua is a great teacher. My 9 year old daughter and I are students of his. He is extremely patient and never seems annoyed by hearing the same beat over and over again, even if the same mistakes keep happening. Instead he explains the correction needed and encourages me to try again. I greatly appreciate this approach about him as a teacher. Because as an adult learner I feel like I can be pretty hard on myself, but he is good at not letting me get stuck in that mindset. Plus, I know some of the local drummers who know him and every one of them has exclaimed what a skilled drummer he is. He has deep knowledgd, and interest, of many genres of music that he is able to produce skillfully as well as explain it. I recommend Joshua as an instructor. He is skillful, rhythmic, and extremely knowledgable about the art of drumming. Plus, he adores Prince.

Hired Josh to teach our 18-year old drums. He is extremely positive and has made a real connection with our son Caden. I am a drummer and knew i'd struggle teaching my own son. Josh has made this fun and our son is really seeing results and enjoying his practice. Can't say enough good about Josh and his teaching style.

I wasn't sure how the online music lesson platform would work, but decided to chance it with COVID. I am SO grateful I did! Joshua is an incredible teacher. He has been able to identify my child's strengths, needs and interests and has somehow found a way to engage her so she owns her learning and is excited to master things he has taught. He flexes with her tweenie moods and her learning style to help her become a child who truly loves percussion. Her self confidence and overall learning abilities have skyrocketed because of Joshua's teaching. Now that things are opening up and we are moving back to in-person interactions, the incredible value of having Joshua "come into our home" and teach my child, rather than spending as much time driving to and from lessons as is spent in the lesson, is something we will absolutely be continuing. The remote learning invites my child to be quickly focused and more comfortable and has truly enhanced her skill levels. Joshua has changed our lives and I highly recommend him for anyone who is looking for a drum teacher!

My 8 year old can be challenging to motivate and has trouble staying focused at times, but this was never an issue with Josh who easily kept him engaged yet sensed when he needed breaks or redirected. Josh is a wonderful teacher who is very talented himself! Over the past six months has really taught my son a ton of great info. We started with home lessons and then moved to lessons at the store. Josh is prompt, easy to work with on payments, and always professional but totally fun. I highly endorse him to any parent considering lessons for their child.
