- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I am fond of telling people that I didn't find painting, it found me. Painting is a very polarizing trade, one of those classical love/hate dynamics. I love my job. I wake up everyday excited about putting a coat of paint on something.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I get a lot of complicated paint jobs and strange hardwood re-finishing jobs. About 25% of my work load annually are jobs that other contractors have passed on or homeowners run into problems with. I get many such referrals from Sherwin-Williams each year. I do regular paint work also, and I am a business man, so I will bid on anything I can make money on. I don't get into massive commercial projects or industrial work at all, but I can handle everything except boats and cars at the residential level.
