We asked Ian to remove an old, built-in TV cabinet, to refinish the drywall and expand our master closet. Ian and his team rerouted electrical wiring in the family room and master bedroom as well. We also asked Ian to remove a second-floor laundry chute and refinish the drywall. We are very impressed with all the work Ian did, and will definitely call him back the next time we have carpentry-related work for our home! He was professional from start-to-finish ... very responsive when we inquired about a quote, he completed the work in a timely manner, and cleaned-up very nicely. And, Ian quoted a much better price than the other two contractors we asked. We will use Ian again, and recommend him to anyone looking to do the same work in their home.

We contracted with Ian Cheadle of Cheadle Construction (937.580.9098) on December 4, 2015, and we are very glad we did. The project centered around the replacement of carpeted and tiled flooring with 3/8 inch Engineered Hardwood in a glue-down installation. This was a project that we, homeowners, had started the previous May, but after completing our great room, the project lost momentum leaving our downstairs in a half-baked configuration. We were simply not looking forward to tackling the myriad of difficult cuts required for our front entry-way, parlor, and hallway, all of which are at odd angles to the walls opposite. In late November, we decided to hire a professional. We found Ian and contacted him via email and he came to our condominium ON TIME, sized up the work and had an estimate/contract prepared for us shortly thereafter. Some prices are a set amount, while others are by square-foot or linear foot. It was all clear up-front. We removed the baseboards, carpet, carpet liner, carpet tack strips, and tile ourselves, revealing a concrete sub-floor upon which the new project would be glued. We were not, however, able to chip away the mortar that was underneath the tile. Lucky for us, Ian had a tool similar to a jack hammer that was able to do that job. The particular choice of materials and the method of installation were ours, and were not products he had worked with prior. Ian listened to our own experiences and in addition did his own research, including contacting the company. So when he began work, he was able to hit the ground running. We should mention that this was "click and lock" flooring in name only; it takes some real persuasion with a hammer to get each piece to lay flat. And the glue, although a great product, is also very messy, requiring constant cleanup. The project also involved the installation of baseboards. We chose 1x4 common board, and did the sanding, priming, and painting ourselves, leaving the cuts and installation for Ian. He caulked all the gaps, leaving a finished, professional look. There were no surprises during the installation. Ian asked all the right questions, and turned our vision into reality in less than a week. Having done this work, ourselves, the previous May, I can tell you that his constantly cheerful attitude must be a superpower of some sort. So, now, the project is complete, the place looks great and we can once again welcome our cars into the garage, just in time for winter. We hired Ian to install hardwood flooring on our entire first floor of about 750 square feet. He was extremely helpful throughout the entire process, from his initial visit and estimate to helping us make a choice in flooring that we’d be pleased with. Ian researched and communicated with the manufacturer to ensure we were getting the best install possible. He was flexible in working around our schedule during the holiday season, and completed the job in a timely manner without any problems or disruptions whatsoever. He was very informative and made us feel comfortable every step of the way. He provided suggestions but always let us make the final decisions. As for the overall craftsmanship, Ian’s attention to detail made the end result look amazing. We couldn’t be happier with our floors, Ian really did an outstanding job. Because of his integrity, efficiency, and expertise we will definitely be contacting him when our next big project comes up! Thanks again Ian! -Jon & Katy

After working with someone else who did not deliver, we found Ian. He is very conscientious and provided honest costs, time tables and managed the project with a high degree of care. We will continue working with him whenever we have the opportunity
