I would tell Rich what I was interested in learning and we would break down the steps of achieving my goals together. Rather that being slowing down a song and listening to each note, coming up with exercises to improve technique, or even diving into some advanced music theory. But, if I was having trouble understanding a topic, Rich would recognize it and find a different teaching approach that was better suited for my personal learning style. I was planning to focus on just rock n roll but I've been introduced to a much broader array of music including funk, blues, jazz, reggae, and metal as well as different techniques used within each genre. Lessons have been great and have helped me learn not only what to play, but why I'm playing it too. I cannot say enough good things about Justin who has an answer to any question and an accessible teaching style (which is saying a lot when referring to guitar). Learning music is for all ages!We're very impressed with the class space he has set up in his new (as of early 2022) space on Madison Boulevard.It is small for now, but with the experience and expertise Eric brings, we have no doubts classes will soon outgrow the space.He has been flexible with our time and access needs and very accommodating with regards to illness. His hourly rates are comparable to other teachers in the area, and it's a personalized experience.
