Introduction
I’ve been a photographer since 2016, capturing everything from senior photos to SEMA Show. I’m a very introverted person but I believe that's what gives me the power of connection with my clients. Born in Virginia, but raised and reside in Dayton, Ohio. I love people and observing human connection and personality. I love learning the stories behind the faces of the world. I aim to bring out unique traits, the details that make you who you are. I aim to make photos of the person you are now, so you can remember all of the intricacies later. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, cinema, and food. Whenever possible, I’m making plans to try new and local restaurants. My favorite non-human inspiration? Reflections, shadows, and vibrant colors. If I see the opportunity to incorporate one of these into a shot, I probably will.

Before I had the chance to shoot with SLewis Photography personally, I was already aware of his professionalism, imaginative outlook, and dedication to photography because of the great job he did at my nephew's first birthday party. His parents, as well as I, are enthralled with all of the photos taken. When Stephen contacted me to participate in a few visual concepts he had for a shoot, I was all in. I was already excited to have the chance to work with him, and in the end was not let down. We decided to shoot in urban industrial areas, and all of the locations we shot in was a mutual decision. He made me feel comfortable during shooting by letting me express myself within those settings, while giving helpful direction so that the photos came out great. I am extremely pleased with the final photos Stephen picked out as well. I would definitely recommend getting all of your photographic needs from SLewis Photography because of the versatility and innovation that goes behind each photo. I look forward to working with him in the future, and continuing to see him florish in his craft.

Stephen is amazing!!! We used him for our engagement photos and I couldn’t have been happier with the way they turned out. I didn’t know Stephen prior to the shoot but I felt like we had a family friend taking our photos. I loved that he was quick to respond too. I would recommend him to anyone in a heart beat. He will shoot whatever photos in whatever pose you want him to but he also just “sees” something and says here try this, and it turns out fantastic! We actually used him last year for our Christmas photos with our dog and he got a great shot of her without even telling her to do anything. We plan on using him again for this years Christmas photos as well!

SLewis Photography captured our most precious moments in a way we couldn’t even imagine. He was there waiting with a few custom ideas but also was willing to hear our vision and being into full effect! I think that I’ve had other photographers promise quality for the cost but SLewis was able to keep their word. The value doesn’t compromise the quality. I can appreciate that. Scheduling with SLewis Photography was seamless and he was open to all hours. Flexibility is something that they specialized in. The turn around time was quick as well. He had our photos back in the time frame promised. Overall I would recommend SLewis Photography to family and friends. And to anyone looking for their moments to be captured as they are SLewis is key.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    I do not have any standard pricing. I like to discuss what my clients budget is and what we can do for the price point they can afford.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    I like to sit down with the customer and learn what they want out of this experience. Some people want to get portraits done for a certain occasion and some are looking to rejuvenate their love for themselves. I like to sit down and see what styles they're looking in for as well. Take time to do the shoot and edit then meet with then in person to let them see final product.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

    I got started a couple years ago when I started using photography as an art form. There came a time when local people started asking me for small photography favors and from there I started to pursue other clients as well.
