Pastor Jeffrey Lavalette performed my wedding ceremony. He was absolutely fantastic. He is excellent at public speaking and his portions of the ceremony encompassed everything that I was hoping for but he was able to keep his points terse so that the ceremony did not go to long. During our ceremony rehearsal, he made sure that everything got done that needed to and that everyone knew what they were doing. He had a lot of insight to provide in terms of what looks best during the ceremony and was able to quickly brainstorm different set-up ideas so that we could design the perfect ceremony for us. In addition, he has an incredible personality that comes through during his ceremonies. He made quick, quiet asides to the groom and myself during the ceremony (that no one else could hear) which was great for keeping us calm when dozens of people were watching us and listening to us speak. I would definitely recommend Pastor Lavalette in the future.

Jeff was amazing! We wanted a simple, quick wedding sense we could only do it with immediate family and he did such a wonderful job. My husband talks about him all the time saying how relaxed he made him feel up there before I came down. He did an amazing job making it fun but serious at same time. You are suppose to enjoy your wedding and we absolutely did. We can not thank you enough Jeff for helping us out and making it how we imagined.

Jeff was an excellent wedding officiant and premarital counselor! He was casual yet professional, and had a great sense of humor. He made the premarital counselling sessions fun and interesting, while giving us some great "tools" to help us build a solid marriage. Jeff is really good at reading people, and it was amusing how he took our various personality quirks and highlighted them in ways that were both funny, but also helped my husband and I to understand each other better. At our ceremony, he kept it lighthearted and fun, and far from stuffy. Everyone laughed throughout it, and it really helped my nerves! I am happy that we found Jeff, and I'm also glad we have him as a resource in the future if we ever need to just talk! Jeff did not make me feel bad about not having any declared religion, or try to be pushy about a specific one. He made me feel welcome to ask questions, and was not judgmental in any way. I would highly recommend Jeff for premarital counseling and/or as a wedding officiant.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I love working with people as they prepare for a lifetime together. Rather than quoting low and then adding on a bunch of fees (mileage, rehearsals, consultations, etc), I have a set price of $250, and that's ALL INCLUSIVE. If you want custom vows, it's included. If you want to meet multiple times to plan (or just need a hug), it's included. If your mom wants to call me and tell me how special you are, it's included!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I think it's important for everyone to feel comfortable and positive about working together. Therefore, I offer a no-obligation "first date" to get to know each other and talk about vision/expectations for the wedding. If everything feels right, you can book your date by paying the fee.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been in pastoral ministry for 20 years and have worked with over 200 couples. I also offer premarital counseling and post-marital counseling ($75/60-minute session), because everyone plans to get married, but most don't give much thought to how they will stay married.
