Helen was absolutely wonderful in helping us pull off a backyard wedding while honoring our wishes and our suggestions for the ceremony script. It really was our personalized wedding. She was friendly and warm in our chats leading up to the big day and flexible when we found out our photographer might be running late because of a flat tire. I hope to never need to use her services again myself ;) but will definitely recommend her to anyone getting married. Thank you, Helen!!

So my husband and I picked Helen to officiate our wedding ceremony because she had a lot of positive reviews. When we asked her to attend our rehearsal she said that she typically does an up charge for it (which we were fine with). When she showed up to the rehearsal, we were running a tad bit behind and she seemed irritated/ annoyed that she even had to do the rehearsal. She said that she “was having a bad day” which we all do but I would’ve been more than understanding if she would’ve texted me saying that she was not feeling up for it (instead of bringing a bad mood to our group) and I would’ve been fine with that. Fast forward to the ceremony, she announced my name as Jennifer instead of Jessica…. She also wrote the wrong date on our “decorative” marriage license and she told me the day of the wedding that she typically doesn’t take checks as a form of payment but failed to notify me prior to the date. Overall, I was just glad she showed up the day of the ceremony.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    Yes, and it is posted with Thumbtack. Traveling for the rehearsal adds additional costs, as does going outside of the 30 mile zone. I am negotiable, and if client use my services to plan and book their honeymoon, I do not charge a fee for officiating the wedding.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    The customer contacts me with their date and time, their preferences, and we determine whether or not we are a mutual fit.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I have worked on over 20 years in education and over 15 years in other customer service areas, so I am quite versed at dealing with clients from all populations. I have been a travel agent for the past 3.5 years, and love assisting in making memories.
