I have never felt more comfortable with a pet sitting experience. Guy was professional, thorough and caring. I really appreciated the updates they leave every day for the pets. We will definitely use them in the future.

Angie has taught me how to handle my dog, and in return, my dog is a much better behaved pet. She really listened to my concerns and made a plan to work on each one of them. I highly recommend Angels in the Infield! Professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable about training dogs (and their people).

I can not thank Shelly enough for all that she did for our animals. My fiance and I had to leave out of town very unexpectantly for a funeral. Shelly made time to meet with me the same day I called her, and agreed to take care of our 3 year old boxer/bulldog mix, and our 2 cats starting the very next day and for the next 6 days. She came over 3 times a day and made sure that our animals were fed, took our dog on frequent walks, and kept an eye on our house while we were gone. What started out as a very stressful trip soon became easier to cope with knowing that our pets were in great hands. Never did we leave town feeling so assured that things would be okay while we were gone. I would recommend Shelly and her pet sitting services to anyone, and will not hesitate to call her in the future! :) :)

Kim started with us about 3 weeks ago and did a great job of bonding with our puppy. We had to go out of town a week ago and Kim sat with Sophie all weekend for us and sent me updates on how Sophie was doing. With a new puppy (4 months old) a great pet sitter like Kim is appreciated.

Cuddles and Care is the best cat sitting service I have ever used! My cat sitter really spends time playing and loving my cat instead of just changing the litter and leaving. Each visit is a half hour long and she leaves little notes telling me how it went! I normally worry a lot about my cat when I leave but since I've found cuddles and care I feel peace of mind knowing he's in good hands. They always work with my schedule even when I've had last minute requests. Highly recommend!!

I know Gina from Pet Smart and saw how well she trained dogs and pet parents. Gina was very caring and atentitive to all their needs. When I needed pet sitting services, I knew she would be able to care for my kids. Gina is very through with knowing each of my pets needs and how to care for them. My dog and one of my cats have special needs and she made sure they received that special care. She took time to hang out with them and play too! She gave me updates with every visit! I have used other people in the past but felt they were more about making money than caring for my pets. Gina goes outside the box by bringing in my mail, emptying garbage, shoveling snow off my porch, washing food bowls, adjusting the temp in my house and loving my kids. Gina is fully trained to admimister meds, and had no problem doing it for my dog. I know if one of my pets needed emergency care, she will not hesitate to take care of it! I trust Gina with my pets and in my home! I am so thankful to be able to rely on such a caring person that has such knowledge and ability to care for the things that I love the most, my pets! I am so happy to have a pet caretaker that I trust and love!

Saving Grace K9 understand the breed-specific quirks and behaviors that are normal for a Hungarian Vizsla and advised us on how to work to modify his behaviors that are less than ideal. When pet sitting they treated our pup like one of their own and regularly sent pictures of the good time he was having with them. Jean and her family have a genuine love for both dogs and people and it shows in her work and business.

About

Hello. I'm a pet care and pet sitting provider. I love animals and provide care for all of them. I began pet sitting in my neighborhood when I was 10 years old. Now, almost 8 years later, I have expanded my business to local communities. Currently, I am only providing services within 10 miles of Avon, Ohio, but if you are outside of this range, I can provide care if it's within reason. Thanks for considering!

About

My name is Romelo. I have been dealing with animals since I was born(dogs, cats, turtles, snakes, baby alligators, rabbits and fish). My dad has had all of them. He has trained me to know what each animal likes and dislikes, and what to do if it's mad or how to play when its not mad so it doesn't get mad. I love animals, they have become my life.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to hire a house sitter?

House-sitting can be a lifesaver when you’re leaving town for any length of time. Whether you work remotely, you’re taking a much-needed vacation, or you just want to road-trip for a few days, it’s wise to have a pro keep an eye on your house and pets while you’re gone. Your home is more likely to stay safe and you won’t have to wrangle the kitty into a kennel to travel with you. The national average pet-sitting price ranges between $20 and $30. Pet-sitting and house-sitting costs will vary based on where you live in the country and regional labor rates. Another factor in cost is how long you want the house-sitter to stay. Some people prefer to have the house-sitter stay the night at their house, perhaps to care for an elderly pet or simply to keep a watchful eye on the home at all times. Overnight stays will cost more, ranging anywhere from $50 to $100, depending on services provided. For day visits, house-sitting and pet-sitting prices will increase incrementally the longer the visit and the more service you want performed. For example, a quick 10-minute visit to feed and walk the pet and bring in the mail could be $12.50, a 25-minute visit could be $18, a 40-minute visit $25, and a 50-minute visit $32. How much should you pay for a pet sitter?

Pet sitting provides your precious pet with in-home care. A pet-sitter can make a brief visit during the day to provide snacks, playtime or affection, or stay at your house for one or more nights to tend to your pet. Prices for pet-sitting will vary based on length of the visit. Nationally, pet sitting prices range from $20 to $30, although prices run higher for your sitter to stay the night. Prices will also be affected by where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pet-sitting prices based on length of time and region:

  • 30-minute visit: $17 in a small Texas town.
  • 30-minute visit: $25 in Southern California.
    • 45-minute visit: $28.
    • 60-minute visit: $32.
  • Overnight stay (10 hours): $50 in Texas.
  • Overnight stay (10 hours): $85 in Southern California.
    • 12 hours: $100.
    • 24 hours: $200. This is a good option for a sick, elderly or brand-new pet that needs constant supervision.
