FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My prices vary according to expenses. Location photography sittings are generally less expensive since I do not have the cost of renting studio space. I always like to give the customers their digital files. This is what most people want and my base sitting price includes that.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will make initial contact via email where I assess the client's photo needs, location, and prices. For large events like weddings, I meet with the bride and groom to go over this process. Its important to me to be sure the clients needs match my style and skill level. For example, I may not be the best fit for a commercial product catalogue, since my experience is in portraiture.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have returned to Kaplan (as alumni) to refresh my skills and fill in the holes left by technology changes. I am constantly reading and studying new camera and editing skills. I also study the marketing and sales techniques of studio owners. My peers and my competition are my best teachers.
