Matt was absolutely amazing! We had a nursery painted with an underwater theme. Never even really heard him while he was here for 2 weeks. It may seem like a long time but to us with what was done it was super fast! When i came on here to find someone to paint i got a couple people who responded. the reason i picked matt was because when he sent an email to me it wasn't like everyone else who responded. He asked me what i wanted what i was looking for, more personable then the others who just gave me the price per square foot and nothing on what i wanted. He was very accommodating to our busy life and came to us and didn't charge a fee for gas (which some said they charged for) mind you we lived over an hour away. when finally meeting with him once again it what we wanted and what we wanted to see in the painting. We love fish tanks and have certain fish we like and wanted to see and he made sure to include them. Everyday he came around the same time we simply left the door unlocked because we work late hours we still would be sleeping. A time or 2 we needed to leave earlier then when we needed to and it was never a problem. Now to the artwork itself, simply amazing! We had one big mural on one wall and the others just painted to match. The fish and coral look so real and it was well balanced and scaled perfectly. It was mostly hand painted and some airbrushed. Matt has more than exceeded our expectations the nursery is absolutely breathe taking and couldn't be more happier to have found him. We will definitely be hiring him again!

Jim and his crew did a fantastic job for us painting our rental home. We corresponded back and forth and he absolutely met and exceeded our timeline. His work was phenomenal, and the price more than reasonable. He sent me photos that I requested, and went above and beyond our expectations. Would definitely highly recommend him, and will hire him every time we need painting ever again.

Did a great job painting the exterior trim on my house. Worked quickly and even replaced my address numbers so they would match the freshly painted area they were mounted on.

We hired Masters Craft to do what we thought was gonna be just a simple in/our ceiling paint job, which turned out to be a remodel project. Joel was very PROFESSIONAL and PUNCTUAL in showing up for the free estimate. After the estimate I asked if he knew anyone that did floors, doors and drywall, with the understanding we had a two week time frame. Lucky for us he had the PERFECT person in mind, Uncle Ed. Ed not only is a perfectionist but, his knowledge and guidance of what we wanted done was top notch. We had questions he answered them,we asked for certain things to be done, he did them and if there was something we wanted done that wasnt in their field of EXPERTISE, they had other professionals they called to get the project done for us. Everyone at Masters Craft was very pleasant, easy going and enjoyable to work with, NO bad attitudes, foul language, complaining about anything and when they said theyd be there at 8:30 they showed up at 8:30. No waiting around to see when/if theyd arrive. They were organized, neat and made sure they left the worksite clean. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Masters Craft for ANY painting project and other needs you may have. They went above and beyond all our expectations and were very reasonably priced. We love how our home has turned out. We still have a few more projects that need done and without a doubt, WILL be calling Masters Craft to get them done. We LOVE the way our home looks. THANK YOU MASTERS CRAFT, we APPRECIATE YOU. Will be posting pictures of before and after a as soon as we get the decorating finishing touches done.

I highly recommend Christian for your painting projects. Christian is one of those painters with a super steady hand and doesn’t need to tape all the walls but his painting is precise! He is quick, reliable and affordable. If you are thinking of painting on your own - save yourself the time and hassle and hire Christian! I am very happy with the project he just completed for me.

the painting project took longer than expected due to the painter's schedule conflicts and somewhat lack of appropriate tools to do the job efficiently, but overall for the value provided the project met my expectations.

I’ve hired several people through thumb tack and Byron is far and away the best contractor I’ve found on here. Not only was he very reasonable for pricing, but he was on time, reliable, and very easy to have continued communication with. Our complete home renovation took them about 6 weeks to finish on the small home and they did excellent work. He has great experience doing everything from plumbing to electrical to drywall work. They even helped us paint, install cabinets, backsplash, and appliances. There’s really nothing that they can’t do. I’ve been burned before by contractors on thumbtack. Unreliable guys who disappear while on a project of mine for days and you can’t get ahold of them. And some do shoddy work. Do yourself a favor and hire Byron to get any and all of your home needs done. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

We have been working with Calo Painting and Restoration since May of 2017. They have been an integral partner in our total home renovation. It started with painting our main bathroom followed by a total transformation (stripping wallpaper, wainscoting, installing crown and baseboard moulding, and painting) our living room and hallway. Then we turned our attention to the family room (tearing down old paneling and replacing it with wide beadboard, painting the cathedral ceiling, beam, mantle and brick around our fireplace. Then they totally gutted our kitchen (installing new cabinets and appliances, wainscoting, and painting). They updated the beadboard in the laundry room and that room and the half bath received a fresh coat of paint. They are finishing our renovation project (July 2018) by installing closet systems, new crown and baseboard moulding, and painting our three bedrooms. All our rooms also received new flooring (tile, hardwood, or carpeting). A 15 month total restoration of our home! We have been very pleased with their work and thoroughly enjoy the compliments we get about how beautiful our home looks!” Calo Painting and Restoration made this huge undertaking a labor of love! Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to paint the interior of a house?

Interior house painting costs are calculated on a few key factors. Nationally, interior house painting projects range from $200 to $2,500. The wide price range indicates how much square footage, paint selection and labor can affect cost. One pro uses a laser to measure each room, subtracting the size of the doors and windows, and then bases the quote on the square footage of the actual surfaces to be painted. Painters may provide you with savings if you opt to paint your entire home rather than just having one room or an accent wall painted. For example, the average house painting cost for an 8x12 room with 8-foot ceilings is roughly $200, when contractor-grade paint is used. Painting ceilings, baseboards and frames can also affect cost. Pros may charge per linear foot to smooth and paint baseboards. In one area pros might charge 50 cents per linear foot to paint baseboards, while pros in another part of the country could charge $1.50 per linear foot for the same task. Painters may charge flat rates for painting door and window frames, with one charging $20-$25 and another $60 per door. Geography and regional costs to do business play a major role in the cost of interior painting. The same painter in a rural region has less to pay in taxes, transportation, insurance and overhead than they would in a major city like New York.

How much does a painter charge per room?

The cost to paint a room will vary based on the size of the room, the type of paint you select, any ceiling or trim work needed, and any repairs needed. If no repairs or other additional work is needed, painting a room with contractor-grade paint could range from $1 to $2 per square foot, including materials. Selecting a luxury paint (some cost more than $100 per gallon) will certainly increase your house painting costs. Here are some additional examples of average house painting costs, per room:

    • 12x12 room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $125
    • 12x12 room with an 8-foot ceiling: about $100
    • 14x16 master bedroom with a 9-foot ceiling: about $150
    • 14x16 master bedroom with an 8-foot ceiling: about $125
    • 16x16 living room with a 9-foot ceiling: about $175
    • 16x16 living room with a 20-foot ceiling: starting at $225

    How much do painters cost?

The national average cost for an interior painter ranges between $450 and $900. Interior painters can tackle everything from complete color makeovers in each of your rooms to touching up an accent wall to painting pieces of furniture. The square footage and complexity of the project, along with the materials needed, are the main factors that will affect cost. Other factors include whether you supply the paint yourself or want the painter to do so, whether you move the furniture and do the prep work or ask them to do it, and whether any repair work is needed on the walls. Painting the ceiling and the trim will also have an effect on cost. The type of paint you choose can also raise or lower your house painting cost. A gallon of paint may range from $20 to over $100, depending on quality and brand. Ask your painter if they charge per hour or per square foot, and how much you can save by doing prep work (moving furniture, etc.) yourself.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
