He makes learning jazz piano and music theory really easeful, tailors his lessons to what you’re interested in (instead of a rote set of exercises) and managed to always find me exactly what I was interested in doing even if it was esoteric, and was really encouraging and positive. My goal was to get a thorough grounding in music theory and learn how to arrange piano for my own songs, and I was amazed how easily it came with his instruction after years of wandering through pop piano on my own. I’ve referred several musician friends his way. Could not recommend more."See more

He goes beyond just telling me about technique and theory by shows me exactly how to move my body so I can play with total ease. Even had a broken pinky and he knew exactly how to pivot our lessons during the recovery! His creative approach breaks down chords perfectly, completely unlocking the ability to play by ear, improvise, and recreate songs. With the chords and ear training I could easily hear a song and start jamming out on a piano on the spot, which is a great party trick :).
