Blake was AWESOME!!! His prices were the best on Thumbtack and his work was superior. He arrived on time and completed the job in a short time. I asked for him to cut down these ugly "seedlings" in my backyard that were literally growing out of the ground where a big tree had been cut down. They were a nuisance and my dogs were going under them, getting crap stuck in their coats - they were just flat out UGLY!! Blake agreed to cut them down for an extra $40 and haul them off. That was a spectacular price in my opinion. Anyone else would have charged me at least $100 for that job. Blake was kind enough to leave me with some high quality weed killer to use on the tree roots to try and prevent those ugly seedlings from returning. He even hauled away a handful of very old tops to bushes from my garden that I had trimmed, but been too lazy to put in the trash! There wasn't a whole lot of them, but he still saw them and hauled them off. Overall, his work was fantastic! I can't say enough good things. I highly recommend booking him for your lawn care needs!

Austin did a great job, tidying all of my unkempt foliage, and removing a Garden Box that came with the house. I will not hesitate to use him again.

We hired Selvin to take care of our lawn. He is very professional and did a quality job on our large lawn. Selvin arrived when he said he would and the quality of work is top notch. He gave good recommendations for our garden and trees and offered to care for them as well as the lawn. We are happy with his work and will continue to use his services in the future.

Responded to my service request within hours and came out on short notice. Did an outstanding job mowing, trimming and cleaning up my rose gardens. His price is very affordable and out of all the people I have contracted for lawn service; his is number 1 by far. You're dumb not to hire him :)

We have been using OKC Lawn and Landscape services for over four years. The garden maintenance and horticulture crews are friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and responsive to requests. I've used several other companies over the years and found OKC Lawn and Landscape to be the best. They also do a fine job of snow removal.

Cammack Lawn Service cleared out 4 flower gardens for me. He was very prompt, did an excellent job, was not too expensive. Beds look great! He also mows my lawn all the time and does an excellent job. He trims trees, blows debris away, leaves my place immaculate. He is the only lawn service I would use!

My gardens were a mess and grass very long. Jeremy went beyond what I expected! My gardens look much better and he even trimmed up a large oak tree in my front yard, and he mowed. The price was fair for the job as well. I've worked with a couple others on thumbtack, and he has done the best job! Would definitely recommend!

Digging a garden and replacing existing dirt with a rich mix top soil. Kalin was very conscientious about his work but under estimated the time and effort. We were completely satisfied with the results

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to have landscaping done?

Professional landscaping can help reinvent your outdoor space, boost your curb appeal and get a major return on investment with. Landscaping can encompass anything from adding new plants, trees and shrubs, to leveling the ground and laying sod for a lawn, to building in hardscaping such as sidewalks, water features or retaining walls. The national average landscaping price is $10,160. Landscaping prices can be far lower (with hourly rates ranging from $50 to $150) if you’re only seeking professional help with softscaping or seeking consultation on landscape design. Softscaping means adding or changing horticultural elements, such as planting a garden or adding a hedge. Hardscaping is where costs can really start to rise. Hardscaping requires labor and heavy equipment to excavate the earth; you may need to pour concrete, or you may need a pro who can transport and place gravel and other inorganic elements. Your total landscaping cost will vary based on the amount of work you want done, how much labor is required, and the cost of the materials you are using. A good rule of thumb for a major landscaping project, according to the American Society of Landscape Architects, is to budget 5 percent to 10 percent of the value of your home.

How much does it cost to landscape your front yard?

Prices for landscaping your front yard can range from a few hundred dollars to tens of thousands of dollars, depending on the scale of your front yard project. Your landscaping price will reflect how much change you implement, how much labor is required, and the cost of materials.

Landscaping is typically made up of softscaping and hardscaping. Softscaping refers to selecting trees, bushes, flowers and plants to achieve a desired aesthetic and to meet goals such as having a drought-tolerant yard. Hardscaping refers to moving earth, installing structures, and putting in decorative stonework, sidewalks or lighting. For softscaping, you may want to hire a landscape designer to consult on your plants and layout, and then do the digging and planting yourself or hire a gardner to handle the heavy lifting. A landscape designer’s hourly rate may range from $50 to $150 or more. If you want a turnkey approach, meaning someone who works with you to create the vision and then executes all the work, landscaping pricing will typically come down to a cost per square foot rather than an hourly rate. It’s a solid investment: Great landscaping can add up to 28 percent value to your home.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
