This lady is absolutely wonderful!!! There is NO ONE ELSE I'll ever call again to pet sit in my home. She is quiet, very calm, and my dogs went right to her the first time she came for a meet & greet! She took wonderful care of Lexi & Sam, kept my house safe and clean, is reasonable in price, and is one of the nicest people I've ever met. It is so nice to not have to worry about my rescued, sensitive pets anymore if I want to take a trip without them. She definitely will be my "go to" when I take trips.

They did a great job! Packed and moved all my stuff in just a few hours and not a thing was missing or broken. I would definitely recommend them.

About

I do housecleaning for private homes. I clean homes, vacuum, dust, make beds, clean bathrooms, wash windows inside, do dishes, and walk your pet. This will be after June 20, 2015.

About

If you for whatever reason must leave your home, I can watch over your loved pets and make sure they stay healthy and active until your return. I can do this for much cheaper than local kennels would offer with better quality of care.

About

We have 12.5 acres and 2.5 of it is fenced for dogs. With the other portion of land, we are able to do many activities on an individual basis. The property is outside of town, surrounded by trees, and backs up to about three miles of fields and trees for a good area to release other wildlife. We are just getting started in this field of service and will be building more facilities on the property shortly. However, we love all types of animals which is what has compelled us to start our rescue, release, and boarding (sitting) services.

I truly enjoy being around animals. While most pet sitters do the typical feeding and watering, I will go the extra mile to ensure your pets are happy! If that means walking them, playing with their favorite toy, belly rubs, consider it done. Your pets will be taken are of with the same love and compassion I feel for my own.

About

As a 24-hour house/pet sitter, I go over to the client's home and take care of the pets in the comfort of their own home. I walk, play, feed, etc. the pet. If for some reason the client wants me to just go and check on the pet, I would go over approx. 3-4 times a day and check on the pet and the house. Some of my clients' pets take medicine. Being a nurse, I have given shots and different medicines. I charge by the day - $40.00. I hope I have answered some of your questions. If I can be of any further assistance, please feel free to call or e-mail me. Lisa Marler

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to hire a house sitter?

House-sitting can be a lifesaver when you’re leaving town for any length of time. Whether you work remotely, you’re taking a much-needed vacation, or you just want to road-trip for a few days, it’s wise to have a pro keep an eye on your house and pets while you’re gone. Your home is more likely to stay safe and you won’t have to wrangle the kitty into a kennel to travel with you. The national average pet-sitting price ranges between $20 and $30. Pet-sitting and house-sitting costs will vary based on where you live in the country and regional labor rates. Another factor in cost is how long you want the house-sitter to stay. Some people prefer to have the house-sitter stay the night at their house, perhaps to care for an elderly pet or simply to keep a watchful eye on the home at all times. Overnight stays will cost more, ranging anywhere from $50 to $100, depending on services provided. For day visits, house-sitting and pet-sitting prices will increase incrementally the longer the visit and the more service you want performed. For example, a quick 10-minute visit to feed and walk the pet and bring in the mail could be $12.50, a 25-minute visit could be $18, a 40-minute visit $25, and a 50-minute visit $32. How much should you pay for a pet sitter?

Pet sitting provides your precious pet with in-home care. A pet-sitter can make a brief visit during the day to provide snacks, playtime or affection, or stay at your house for one or more nights to tend to your pet. Prices for pet-sitting will vary based on length of the visit. Nationally, pet sitting prices range from $20 to $30, although prices run higher for your sitter to stay the night. Prices will also be affected by where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pet-sitting prices based on length of time and region:

  • 30-minute visit: $17 in a small Texas town.
  • 30-minute visit: $25 in Southern California.
    • 45-minute visit: $28.
    • 60-minute visit: $32.
  • Overnight stay (10 hours): $50 in Texas.
  • Overnight stay (10 hours): $85 in Southern California.
    • 12 hours: $100.
    • 24 hours: $200. This is a good option for a sick, elderly or brand-new pet that needs constant supervision.
