I had a great experience. It was important that I can leave my cats at home and not have to worry about them. Simona is a great cat sitter. She texts and communicates daily. I definitely recommend her.

Kaylee is a great pet sitter! My dog loves her to death, the cats who are anti social even come out to sit with her! She always does such a great job of taking care of them. She is the only pet sitter/house sitter I would ever use! She always leaves the house just as I left before I go on trips, if not cleaner!!

We left for Christmas holiday out of state. Amanda took great care of our 2 dogs. They were fed, watered and giving TLC. We came home to happy and healthy pups!

I am willing to help out with house sitting, pet sitting, office work, picking up laundry, etc. I am new at this, so would consider all odd jobs. You just suggest something and maybe I'll give it a try. I am available weekday evenings and anytime on the weekends.

It is my privilege to provide a convenience for you and loving care for your four-legged family members. It has been a pleasure to get to know you and your pets since acquiring the business in August of 2000. It has been one of my goals to serve you in the same manner as the previous owner who was much loved for 15 years. The Pet Limo has transported many passengers including a large snapping turtle named Miracle, a monkey that was spared from a laboratory and sent to a local sanctuary, a pot bellied pig that had been incarcerated at the animal shelter and lots of pets being shipped to other parts of the world to join their families. It has been very interesting and fulfilling to assist people with their different needs. My favorite thing is getting to know people and their pets and being allowed to be a part of their everyday lives.

TONS OF HAPPY PETS AND AND PEOPLE, MANY RAVE REVIEWS!! If one were to scroll through our facebook page, one would see how many times people just randomly post how nice it is to take a vacation or work out of state and not have the worry or guilt of leaving a pet at RosePetCottage!

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to hire a house sitter?

House-sitting can be a lifesaver when you’re leaving town for any length of time. Whether you work remotely, you’re taking a much-needed vacation, or you just want to road-trip for a few days, it’s wise to have a pro keep an eye on your house and pets while you’re gone. Your home is more likely to stay safe and you won’t have to wrangle the kitty into a kennel to travel with you. The national average pet-sitting price ranges between $20 and $30. Pet-sitting and house-sitting costs will vary based on where you live in the country and regional labor rates. Another factor in cost is how long you want the house-sitter to stay. Some people prefer to have the house-sitter stay the night at their house, perhaps to care for an elderly pet or simply to keep a watchful eye on the home at all times. Overnight stays will cost more, ranging anywhere from $50 to $100, depending on services provided. For day visits, house-sitting and pet-sitting prices will increase incrementally the longer the visit and the more service you want performed. For example, a quick 10-minute visit to feed and walk the pet and bring in the mail could be $12.50, a 25-minute visit could be $18, a 40-minute visit $25, and a 50-minute visit $32. How much should you pay for a pet sitter?

Pet sitting provides your precious pet with in-home care. A pet-sitter can make a brief visit during the day to provide snacks, playtime or affection, or stay at your house for one or more nights to tend to your pet. Prices for pet-sitting will vary based on length of the visit. Nationally, pet sitting prices range from $20 to $30, although prices run higher for your sitter to stay the night. Prices will also be affected by where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pet-sitting prices based on length of time and region:

  • 30-minute visit: $17 in a small Texas town.
  • 30-minute visit: $25 in Southern California.
    • 45-minute visit: $28.
    • 60-minute visit: $32.
  • Overnight stay (10 hours): $50 in Texas.
  • Overnight stay (10 hours): $85 in Southern California.
    • 12 hours: $100.
    • 24 hours: $200. This is a good option for a sick, elderly or brand-new pet that needs constant supervision.
