Sarah B. says, "Luis and his whole team were amazing. Luis came out to see the space the day I contacted him and gave us a detailed quote before the week was out. We did not have unforeseen costs and the quote was accurate. Luis worked on turning an unused corner of the house next to the kitchen to a bar. Before the project started, I only had some general ideas of what I wanted from my bar to look like and accomplish, but no clear "vision" in my head as to specifics of design and what it would look like. One of Luis's greatest strengths is that he took this and made great suggestions that creatively and beautifully accomplished my goals for the project (inset shelving, for example, which I hadn't thought of before). He has a licensed electrician on his team, which was great because we didn't have to worry about subcontractors. His whole team was very respectful and worked efficiently. It was a little difficulty juggling timing of which days they would show up amidst their projects, but some of it was the randomness of my own schedule. We are so happy with his beautiful work!"See more

In a nutshell - NOT recommended. Find someone else and do your due diligence and research before you pay any amount to anyone especially Chumbley Construction. We had the unfortunate luck of coming across Noah and his business to do our entertainment wall with a fireplace. Initially appeared professional and communicative to earn your trust - then began the lack of communication, having to micromanage the project, ghosted calls. This is how he truly runs his business and has complete disregard for his customers and subcontractors. The negative reviews are accurate and we would never use Chumbley Construction or any contractors associated with them. The lack of integrity and initiative is apalling. We lost over 10k by hiring them - they did not finish and what they did work on was defective. Took over 3 months when originally quoted 2 weeks. This demonstrates his inexperienced skills in this industry. We understand things happen but he constantly overpromises and underdelivers. We joke that should be their tagline. We eventually lost patience and gave many chances to Noahs team to correct. We ended up terminating the contract before the project finished. Even after we terminated, it took him 3 weeks to pick up his stuff from our property! after we had to ask him to and had to remind him! We just wanted him out of our lives.  We are now paying another contractor to demo the work he did and redo what he attempted to do. Chumbley hired expert subcontractors to try to fix their defective work with our quartz wall. Something he needed to do from the beginning instead of doing it himself. Noah reassured us it will look great once Chumbley "completed" the job. Chumbley also said they paid the subcontractor. After communicating with the subcontractor - Chumbley didn't actually pay him. If you read the documents carefully - if a general contractor doesnt pay their subcontractors, subcontractors can put a lien against your house. Noah reassured us again subcontractors would get paid before we signed the contract. This was not the case at all. It was very disappointing to hear Noah hired someone to attempt to fix his mistake and did not even pay him! Again he ghosted the subcontractor and ceased all communications with him sadly. During the project, I communicated I was anal with my brand new hardwood floors. Chumbley laid a very thin piece of plastic to "protect" the floors. As expected, they did ruin my hardwood floors and was careless and ruined some sections. It will cost us over 3k to demo, pay for new material and install new floors in and most importantly, our time. As of 8/12/24 - we are in the process of serving Noah Washington County court documents. We will take this all the way to court if we have to and hope he does not do business with others. It is very painful what we had to endure/will endure throughout this whole process. We will also file a complaint with the construction board. You cannot trust Chumbley Construction with your home and your hard earn money.  Lessons Learned:  Stay away from Chumbley Construction. Do not rely on Thumbtack alone, call the contractor board to know complaints made, check google, read other reviews carefully. Good luck! We hope everyone has a smooth project and will exceed your expectations!
