Dave D. says, "We purchased a house and had about 4 weeks before we moved in. We wanted to hire a handyman (for a planned date about a week before we moved in) for a full 8 hour day that could tackle a list of items that we creating over those 3 weeks. Just about everybody I contacted had to know exactly what I wanted done before they would give me pricing for an 8 hour day. This was frustrating as I thought to my self.... what does it matter? As long as I do not go outside of your list of handyman services you provide for home interiors and I am hiring you for 8 hours to work down our priority list, with the understanding that you may not be able to finish it, then why do you have to make it difficult and have me produce the exact list. Then I contacted Jessi at Duncks and he made it easy. He said as long as we had the understanding that everything would be ready for them (ie. if we want add a doorstop we will buy it and have the it there), and we did not ask for anything that was listed that they do not do, then here is your price for 8 hours. He also included an extra helper with him which, in mind, is huge advantage for getting work done more efficiently. We hired him, had our list ready and sent it to him a few days before he came so he could bring the right tools. On our list were a variety of items including adding plywood to a wall in an upstairs storage room, hanging tv's, putting up shelves, replacing a shower head, building a media cabinet (ordered from Amazon), putting ikea cabinets (that we built before he got there) into our primary closet (the closet just had long shelving and closet rods and he made nice clean cuts to the shelving and poles, slid in the ikea cabinets with drawers and baskets and attached the shortened shelves and poles to the side of the ikea cabinet), added a door catch, and several other items. We had our list prioritized with expectations that it would not all get done, but he and his helper (Brian) got it all finished! They were great problem solvers and there workmanship was excellent. And nothing but pleasant to work with. The value we got for the work was wonderful in every way. I would hire them again."See more
