Dan has provided guitar and voice lessons for my son Connor and he has been wonderful. He is patient, flexible, and very professional, and Connor has dramatically improved in both areas. I highly recommend Dan as a voice and guitar instructor.Aug 22, 2018
I've had a few lessons with Dan, and he's very professional, understanding, and excited to work each week. From the first lesson I told him my goal was to build confidence, and he's achieved that in just these few lessons. I look forward to continuing to work with him, as he's incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about what he does.Oct 13, 2018Verified
Excellent instructor. Dan has more than met my expectations for a vocal coach. I started at an advanced age at the very beginning. Dan targeted what I needed from the first encounter and we've been progressing at my pace ever since the first lesson. I strongly recommend Dan for voice instruction.Dec 3, 2019
As a novice bass in his seventies, we started out with very basic relaxation exercises, explanation of how the best sounds are created, a full discussion of breathe control, all of which laid the foundation for singing. Practicing with exercises from his sources or rehearsing my choir music fill our lesson time. Throughout Dan remains patient and encouraging. Dan teaches techniques and methods for better vocalization of vowel sounds, where to breath, and making the sound brighter. I remain amazed by his skills and talent and that he can convey what he knows in a way I can integrate. I recommend Dan Gibbs unreservedly.Aug 22, 2018

- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? The first thing I do is get to know them. What are their interests? How do they learn best? What are their goals? What do they want out of taking private lessons? The next step is assessing their experience and overall ability, and where I can help them most.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have a B.A. in Music, with an emphasis in Vocal Performance from Southern Oregon University. I have 16 years of experience in professional training, performing, competing, and teaching voice. I've worked as voice faculty with the Oregon Music Academy, and just joined the voice faculty with the Rose City Music Academy.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I started teaching privately in 2012, and have grown and developed my ability and those of my students every year since!
