John was professional , kept out of the way and made my fathers memorial DVD a special event that I can share with family that couldn't attend . I would recommend him for any event you may need. If I ever need videographer services again I will be calling him. Thank you John from the bottom of my heart. JimApr 6, 2015VerifiedHorsepower Productions's reply
Thank you for the kind review, Jim. It was truly my pleasure to offer what I could to help your family share in grief and celebration of your dad. It was a wonderful service in a beautiful and special place. Thank you again.
John is great to work with. I have hired John on multiple occasions, and I have had the best time filming videos with him. He is patient and has a great knack for sharing ideas and getting the ball rolling. No matter how many times we go over a project, he is pleasant and totally stoked on the feedback and improvements he can make. His creativity and professional attitude make him the perfect videographer for me to recommend to my clients, family and friends. Meet with John and you will see what I'm talking about! John uses the latest technology and incorporates new techniques into his shoots. He can make even a person like me feel very comfortable in front of the camera. I highly recommend John Harris for all of your commercial videography and social media video campaigns.Sep 30, 2014
John did a great job working with our schedule and communicating with us prior to filming. During filming, he made sure all of our on-camera crew were comfortable and knew what to expect. He was VERY quick putting together our project, and our videos looked very professional. I would definitely recommend John.Dec 1, 2014VerifiedHorsepower Productions's reply
Thanks so much for the review, Aimee! :)
John was EXCELLENT to work with!!! He had creative ideas, thoughtful insight and was very personable to work with. He did many edits to our film and worked with our feedback to create a great testimonial. He was flexible comfortable to film with. He was friendly and prioritized making our vision become reality. We HIGHLY recommend using Horsepower Productions for your filming needs. His assistant (I forget her name) was great as well, and we were told she does photography so I'm sure her work is wonderful also.Dec 8, 2014VerifiedHorsepower Productions's reply
Thank you, Brenda! Jodi and I both enjoyed working with you and are thankful you found us (and actually hired us) on Thumbtack!
John Harris at Horsepower knows his craft well. Our first video, a recruiting video, was well done, on time and on budget. Most of all, John is smart and he's a strong communicator. The project went well--in part due to his instincts for what the end product should be. He hit it out of the park for us, and I look forward to getting the next video started. G. Thanks so much, Scott. I'm thrilled you're happy with our first project together and can't wait to get started on the next one!
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? It's always dependent on goals and desired budget. Voice talent, on camera talent, scripting, motion graphics, even music all have an impact on the final product. Add that to camera time, editing time and reviews and the process can become as big or as small as your budget allows. When you meet with a professional, have a budget in mind that you are ale to share. A professional will be able to let you know if your goals and vision match your budget, or if you will need to make adjustments to either in order to plan a successful project. Don't be afraid to share your budget!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?Every few years I will travel to attend conferences that offer educational opportunities but mostly I find what I need online. I'm continually learning new methods, tools and creative ways to accomplish my creative vision by researching and watching online instructional videos.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?Quite by accident. I was a retail manager that took a quick weekend job as a runner for ABC Television at a local college football game. After being around the production trucks, cameras and crew I was hooked.
