Introduction: Services offered are: * desktop and laptop repair * software installation and removal * virus and malware removal * operating system installation * data recovery * hardware upgrades * system speed-up and optimization * private training * computers built to your specifications * network setup * general troubleshooting * Windows application programming My C++ technical programming skills are outstanding, as are my Windows application programming abilities and graphics programming abilities. I also have demonstrated proficiency in debugging, profiling and testing. In addition, I am proud to have written over 400,000 lines of code in the last 7 years. It would be my pleasure to contribute similar results for your company. I have spent the last 7+ years working with Chip Westbrook at Westbrook Enterprise LLC developing a Windows CAD application specialized for use with aerial photogrammetrics, mapping systems and mass aerial surveying. I have been programming with C++ for over 20 years and with C for about 10 years before that. I have primarily been using CodeGear's C++ Builder compiler for over 10 years. (Formally from Borland.) I have some experience with gcc as well as Microsoft's Visual Studio. I also have some skill with Pascal, primarily reading and translating it to C++. I have worked with SED (StreamEDitor) quite a bit. I have lots of experience with DOS and UNIX (Linux) scripting. I also have skills working with assembly, although this is primarily reading and modifying; in other words, I have the skills needed for debugging, tracing and troubleshooting assembly code. I have experienced writing and compiling C and C++ code for Unix and Linux systems. I have experienced using 'php' for writing WEB interfaces. I have a familiarity with a variety of scripting languages. * Debugging and Testing Skills: I have experienced debugging Windows applications. I have experienced using tracing tools. I am quite familiar with break points, including source, address and data break points, as well as watches and single stepping. I have an experience with profiling tools, most recently using Intel's 'VTune' (a really fabulous tool; a masterpiece). I recently acquired 'TestComplete' (from AutomatedQA), and have been learning how to use it. It is oriented to unit testing and to functional testing, and provides support for daily regression testing. It supports many other kind of testing (data-driven testing, object-driven testing, etc.). So far, I think this is the best testing system I have seem, but then, I am a relatively new to these tools. I am familiar with hex editors, disassemblers and decompilers. * Windows Diagnostic Skills: I have very extensive Windows diagnostic skills. I am very familiar with the use of tools such as 'Process Explorer', 'Process Monitor', 'Autoruns', 'Filemon', 'Regmon', 'DISKdata' and many more. I have an extensive skill of ridding Windows machines of processor-time-robbing processes that perform no useful functions, thus, maintaining a machine's maximum possible performance. I routinely locate and remove viruses and other malware from machines when security utilities have failed to do so. * Computer Skills: I regularly build personal computers from scratch. These included all the machines used by my former employer for a 7+ year period. I regularly troubleshoot personal computers, and often successfully repairing machines declared 'beyond salvaging' by others. I have some skills with digital electronics, including repair, design and troubleshooting. I can design any digital circuit that can be diagrammed with a truth table (but not circuits requiring state diagrams.) * Windows Programming Experience: I have more than a passing familiarity programming with the following Windows features: - Graphics programming with GDI, GDI+ and DirectX - Menus and Toolbars - Keyboard and Mouse Input - Image Handling - Dialogs, Modal, Modeless, Message, Common and Custom - Multitasking and Multithreading - Memory Management - File Input and Output - Icons, Cursors and Bitmaps - Child Window Controls - Edit Controls - List Boxes - Common Control Library - Multiple Document Interface - Registry Programming - Text Handling - Dynamic Link Libraries - ActiveX - Printing - Microsoft Foundation Classes I would be happy to meet with you or members of your team to learn more about your needs and expectations for the scientific Windows programmer position. FAQs

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Look for some one that charges reasonable prices and guarantees their work. Describe the problem to the service person as clearly and completely as possible. If there are error messages involved, write them down. Do not just provide a vague description. If it seems relevant write down the sequence of events leading to the failure.
