I'd love to invite you on a vocal journey at my MuscleMusic Voice Studio in East Nashville or over Zoom. I'm not your typical voice coach. With a background in performance and acting, as well as running a national mental health program for artists, I bring a unique set of skills to our sessions. You get multiple coaches wrapped into one! No matter your experience level or ability to read music, my focus is on nurturing your talent and helping you excel as a vocalist. Rather than molding you into a cookie-cutter singer, I want to help you find and refine your own style, expression, and artistic voice. Together, we'll work on breath control, pitch accuracy, vocal projection, and stage presence. Whether you're aiming to audition, enhance your performance skills, or simply enjoy singing, our lessons will be tailored to your specific goals. Currently, I'm offering 13-week programs for dedicated singers who are eager to grow and build their skills. I have a few slots available on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Each package includes 10 lessons and 3 pass weeks, giving you the flexibility to cancel for any reason. As an added bonus, you'll also receive free access to MuscleMusic, a nervous system gym for artists, where you can connect with fellow musicians across the country and strengthen your performance skills within a supportive community. While I understand if you're interested in one-off lessons, my approach is centered around long-term transformations. I believe in the power of committed practice over time. A little about me: I am a trained singer from both New England Conservatory and Berklee, holding an Acting BFA from Emerson College as well. I've received over 12 New England Music Awards, accumulated over 2 million Spotify plays, and had two songs featured in the game Rockband. With hundreds of shows under my belt, I've also produced five one-woman theatrical performances. Additionally, I serve as the leading trainer for trauma-informed performance and pedagogy at Yale and Emerson College. While I teach all genres except Opera, I'm open to exploring your musical interests. I would absolutely love to embark on this vocal adventure together!See more

They may also offer 30-minute lessons for a lower price. Or, they might require monthly tuition for ongoing classes. It depends on the voice coach.

What are singing lessons like?

Every voice coach may have a different style of teaching, but here are a few things you'll likely experience during a singing lesson:

  • Explaining to the instructor what you want to improve on.
  • Going through a few breathing and riff exercises.
  • Receiving constructive feedback and criticism from the instructor.

Before your first voice lesson, you can ask your instructor what you should expect and how to prepare.

How many singing lessons do I need?

It depends on what you’re hoping to accomplish with your singing lessons. Consult a highly rated vocal instructor to determine how many lessons you should take — and how often you should take them.

Do singing lessons actually work?

Yes, many students who’ve taken singing lessons say that their singing has gotten better. To find out if voice coaches near you have successfully taught others how to sing, read their customer reviews on Thumbtack.

What is a good age to start vocal lessons?
