1st time using this service. They were right on time. The van was clean and heated. My dogs grooming was great! Enjoyed the convenience of having a mobile groomer. We will be using Brie from now on.

I can not recommend Rachel and Joel enough! They were both were very kind, respectful, informative, and took the time to listen to my needs. I have two long haired Ragdoll cats (one VERY skittish) but they both came back after their hair cut looking great! Trust me, if you are sick of cat hair all over your house and clothes, give Rachel and Joel a call. We are so happy we found them, and we will return again and again!

When my regular groomer cancelled on me last minute I turned to Thumbtack for help. This was days before the 4th of July holiday weekend. I have 4 Shih tzu dogs who were very shaggy and were in desperate need of grooming. Teresa responded quickly with a more than reasonable quote. I hired her for in-home grooming. She showed up (early) on Friday, July 3rd and spent 6 hours grooming my girls. They turned out beautiful. Grooming them in-home provided a non-stress, comfortable environment and was a much better experience for all of us than taking them to a groomer. Thank you Teresa, you are a life saver!!! I *highly* recommend Teresa and her grooming services.

Oh my gosh!! I love Kasey!!! And so do my pooches!! She really is part of our family now. I know you will feel the same after 5 minutes of knowing her! Kasey groomed my rescue pooch. She had my permission to do "whatever" she wanted with him. Kasey gave him an adorable cut. Then she "chalked" him. His ear feathers and 4 paws were yellow, orange and blue-sooo cute! And my dog was so happy. He knew he looked awesome!! I won't have him groomed by anyone else!! Kasey is a natural with dogs. She is patient and respectful of all dogs. She is wonderful with difficult dogs ( past experience with my rescue that was a biter-he had flunked out of his previous groomer-but Kasey could handle him). I know you and your pooch will be happy with Kasey!! Oh, and did I mention she does cats?!?!

Excellent service! Sara was friendly and very professional. She really came through with my dogs groom, he is now very presentable. Sara was able to complete all of the tasks of your local grooming salon without all of the hassle, drama, and upcharges some pet salons can bring. My dog Jack was very relaxed and not stressed out afterwards, that was the nail in the coffin. I would highly recommend her services to anyone.

If your pet requires any boosters at the time of scheduling grooming, simply let the receptionist know, and our veterinarian can administer the vaccine prior to service. The added convenience of having both veterinarian and groomer in our office is that vaccinations and grooming can be scheduled for a single visit. Please note that our groomers perform all services to their best abilities. If services cannot be rendered due to pet aggression or unwillingness, we will not force your pet to undergo the planned treatment. Our office will notify you of any services that we were not able to complete prior to picking up your pet. Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

Do cats have to get groomed?

It’s not crazy to have your cat groomed. Grooming will keep your cat’s fur soft and silky as well as give you early warning about any health concerns. Regular grooming can also help reduce the volume of hair your cat may be shedding and keep your longhair kitty cool if you live in a warm climate. Professionals competently groom your cat and are trained to manage them if they resist being groomed, while you may get scratched doing the same task. The national average price for cat grooming is $50-$70. Pet grooming prices may vary based on the task. For example, a bath and brush for shorthair cats may be $15, $20 for medium-hair cats, and $25 for a longhair. Cat groomers can also keep your cat’s ears cleaned, trim their nails, and provide haircuts if needed. Average prices for haircuts can vary from $30 to $95 or more, depending on whether the cat is shy or aggressive and whether their coat is in good condition, matted, or otherwise difficult to groom.

Where can you get your cat groomed?

Cat grooming keeps your cat’s fur tangle-free and clean. Most businesses that offer dog grooming or general pet grooming also offer cat grooming; some businesses even specialize solely in cat grooming. Look for a professional who has training grooming cats or belongs to a professional association such as the National Cat Groomers Institute, because cat grooming techniques can be different than for dogs. Cat grooming can encompass a wide range of services. In addition to haircutting, hair detangling and hairstyling, cat groomers can trim cat nails, clean out your cat’s ears, give flea baths, demat, trim facial fur, bathe and even blow-dry your cat. Health safety and etiquette requires your cat to be in good health and have all their vaccinations before using grooming services.

How much should cat grooming cost?

Keeping your cat groomed is an important part of maintaining their good health. The national average cost for cat grooming ranges between $50 and $70, with prices varying based on where you live and the services you request. Your cat’s temperament can also affect grooming prices. Scratching and hissing during a groomer visit can raise rates an average of $5-$10, or more, as hazard pay. Larger cats and long-haired cats that take longer to groom will also usually cost more. Here are some examples of cat grooming average costs:

      • Shave down or lion cut: $35-$60. These cuts preserve the hair around the face and tip of the tail but shave down the entire body. The lion cut is often recommended for extremely matted hair is exceedingly matted, for extreme heat, or for cats who are suffering from hairballs.
      • Ear cleaning and nail trim: $30.
      • Nail trim: $10-$15.
      • Bath and nail trim: $45.
      • Bath and sanitary trim: $55. A sanitary trim clips the hair on a cat’s behind to prevent fecal matting in longhair cats or cats that have mobility issues.
      • Bath, blow-dry, brush out, nail trim and ear cleaning: $40.
      • Full haircut, bath, and nail trim: $45-$95, depending on matting.
Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
