The movers were an hour late, however, they did shave 45 min off our bill. They worked very fast loading our things but one of the movers had to leave and another took his place to unload. After that things really slowed down. The guys stood around and chit chatted then the new guy carried one thing at a time, prior to this they had been using a hand truck to move 3-4 boxes at a time. Todd, the owner, was very kind and easy to work with. And I would consider using them again because of the price, but maybe ask for different guys.

Three movers came. Gustavo, Ivar,& another. Gustavo seemed to lead. They worked fast & efficiantly. I was surprised how great they did. Gustavo texted in timely manner before arrival. Only reason not a 5star is I was told by Monica, who I booked thru is they would come with 5 wardrobe boxes & that didnt happen which left me scrambling to pack in several small boxes I had. The movers did help, thank goodness. I reccomend company to everybody! I hope I don't use them again because I hated moving lol!

Everything went well. The movers were on time and careful with our things. The job took one hour, about what I thought it would. There is a three hour minimum so we paid a bit more but it was worth it.

Nick and his partner Ken deserve an award for the most patience ever shown to a couple of beyond-frazzled individuals during the course of their move! Nick went above and beyond all our expectations in safely transporting our furniture to our final destination. He and Ken were incredibly professional in their handling and wrapping our furniture and it’s placement on the truck. The pick-up and loading went far longer than it should have due to my tardiness in being fully prepared on the day of the move. Some movers would likely have grown impatient with me, and rightly so. But not Nick and Ken. They did everything possible to ease my tension and took extra breaks just to allow me the extra time I needed. My husband and I have moved countless times over the years. (That’s perhaps why I get so frazzled — it’s started to wear on me!). And in all those years, through good and bad moves, my husband and I have never encountered a nicer or more decent pair of movers than Nick and Ken. In an industry that gets so many bad reviews and horror stories, this company really stands out. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Nick and his crew to anyone looking for an exceptional professional move. You simply won’t find anyone better.

Great that I was able to quickly hire two movers in a short amount of time. They were quick and didn't stand around to contemplate how they were going to pack everything. They hustled and got it done quickly. The only improvement I would suggest is to do a final walk through with the mover. I was leaving a few things behind and a couple very heavy items were left behind. I will have to hire another labor to move them out of th@fszizzle Your body cannot withstand deep water aerobics? I don't know enough about fibromyalgia. But I do have several friends that have the diagnosis and have been through so much because of it. I deeply feel for anyone that has to withstand and endure e car.

I moved in to an upstairs 1 bedroom apartment from a ground floor 1 bedroom. I have a lot of stuff and the guys were friendly, efficient, and easy to work with. I was told there would be 3 guys with a 2-3 hour time estimate, but was a little frustrated when only 2 guys showed up and it took them 3 1/2 hours to complete the job. Overall, it was a good experience and I would hire them again. I would just make sure to verify number of movers and time frame expected prior to moving day.

The QAR team had four team members helping my dad and me to move out of two adjacent apartments. It was a huge job, requiring two trips and almost 12 hours of work. They worked extremely hard and I couldn't ask for anyone to do more. Bit of advice though, to save money, hire someone to help pack a couple of days before so that your movers only have to grab-n-go. Thanks Sergio!

Wow! The best movers I have ever hired! I am in the Real state business, I have hired a dozen or more of labor movers in the last year. PNW MOVING is the best! I highly recommend them. They were on time, fast, safe, and very professional! Josh & Roy were so kind. And so understanding, they picked up my piano like it wieghed nothing. They packed my whole house under 5 hours. I told them I had a 8 hour budget, and they surpised me so much! They saved me money and time, I even took the guise out tk eat after wards! They loaded the truck so well and professional, everything was wrapped, tied down, safety moved. I actually hired then again a few days later for a move for my client, this time I hired 6 PNW Moving guiee and wow. They are so amazing. A++++++++ all the way.

We had a last minute request for movers and these came through! The price was competitive, they were fair and reasonable, but also focused on wanting to do a good job and take care of our furniture. They were on time, communicative, and friendly. Couldn't ask for better movers!

I don't remember our movers names but they were awesome! All Service Moving was great in getting back with me on a quote. We booked them for our West Seattle move. They came on time and was quick with the paperwork. One of the movers was so quick in moving most things out of the house and the other was packing our furniture to make sure it doesn't get damaged. They gave us an 8.5 hr moving time estimate and they were correct. Wow, we got lots of stuff! Both of our movers worked so hard and never complained about anything. They made sure the move went smoothly for us and that our stuff was well taken care of. I can't say enough good things about these guys. We are very happy with everything All Service Moving had provided. Will definitely be using them again in the future (hopefully not anytime soon!) Thanks ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Best experience I have ever had with movers. Arrived on time, they worked very fast, and very efficiently. They got finished so fast, that they moved some other items for us in the house. They were extremely careful with our furniture and other items. I would recommend Oregon Trail Moving Services to anyone wanting a professional group of movers, at a value price!

It was a simple moving job. The movers were okay not the best but again you get what you pay for. West Coast Moving are hands down the best movers but they are twice as expensive too. The only thing I wasn't happy about is the main guy kept saying he has used some of his boxes but he was not going to charge us for it as if he was doing us a favor. But in reality we packed everything and every single box was ours. The guy repeated this statement at least 3 times. At the end when he was writing the invoice he said the same thing and to top that he showed me a list of things tapes etc and said that he had used 60 but was only going to charge us for 40. Based on the boxes experience I knew I could not trust this statement. Being honest is big for me. I still gave them a tip as we moved in winter and it was cold when these guys were moving furniture.

Mike and his team were absolutely awesome! They arrived on time and worked the entire day for me. They wrapped all of my furniture with blankets, protected my floors with red carpet and even had these special door pads to cover our front door! They were extremely effiecient and worked in the blazing heat! My overall experience was just amazing. They’re very affordable for the work they do. My last move, I paid double the price per hour and the movers weren’t even half as good. I’ll defiantly be using this crew again if I ever plan on moving in the future.

We were scheduled for a move with another mover who backed out on us during the busiest month. We were scheduled to go from Oregon to California. Rose answered our Thumbtack request and helped within hours, by the next morning next morning we had everything finalized. We booked within 24 hours had a full pack move and 3 days later we had peace of mind within 5 days from day of being packed the truck arrived. The crew came out to pack us and I was very worried that something would go wrong. The foreman Mario was beyond wonderful with the 5 other guys. We were fully packed loaded in two days. (it was a long two days but it was done). Our estimate was just about 98% on. Mimi called to set our delivery schedule and Rose kept us updated throughout the 5 days on where the truck was, when to expect them to arrive in California. Our move was about 1300 miles and I have to say, it is not every day a company returns calls at 11:00 pm at night when you realize a tractor trailer will not be able to access the street to deliver. Rose called us back within 15 minutes and said she would make sure it was taken care of before delivery at 10:am in the morning. We had 17,000 pounds plus moved and NOT one item damaged. If anyone has questions message me. My husband is a Attorney with nothing but praise. Thank you all for a Happy Move!

I am no longer worried about relocation's. I have a supportive team that will always be there for me. I have people whom I can trust when the worse comes to worst. iGreen Movers are the best relocation team and they are a reliable company. Moving me to North Carolina from Washington State greatly proves that. You are so amazing and I do appreciate. I'm going to refer you to all my friends and family, and I want to give a personal thank you to Romeo, he was with us through thick and thin, when we needed him at 8PM to let him know we were not going to be able to receive delivery for another 2 days, they had no problem delaying for a day and they didn't charge us an arm and a leg. I will say the price ended up being little bit higher than the quote, but that's because we were on the fence about some appliances that ended up coming with us. We left them off the inventory because we intended on selling them.. But ya know, that never happened! LOL, if anyone wants a reference feel free to reply to my review and I'll kindly send you a DM so we can speak privately and I can let you know you're in the hands of real movers! Again thanks so much iGreen and the team behind Romeo! You Guys are The Best!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    What do moving companies do?

Moving companies provide a range of services to help you physically move out of one residence and move into a new place. But moving companies can do so much more than just haul your belongings across town in a truck. The national average for moving company prices ($250-$350 per hour) reflects the range of services provided. Here are examples of all the ways moving companies can help:

    • Packing: Moving companies can pack your belongings for you. They typically charge a flat rate for both the box and the labor to pack the box. The more time-consuming the belongings are to pack, the higher the cost per box. For example, books could be $5 per box, linens $10 per box, and fine china and glassware $18 per box.
    • Specialty moving: Safely move a baby grand piano, a oversize aquarium, or other specialty items with the help of pro movers.
    • Storage: Many moving companies can store your belongings while you wait for a new home to be remodeled or closing of your new home to be finalized. If you’re moving long-distance, they often provide short-term storage free for a specific length of time, and a set rate after that (such as $60 per square cubic foot of storage space used).
    • Long-distance moves: No need to rent a trailer and move your things; a long-distance moving company can haul your belongings across the country for you. Typically they charge by the cubic foot for moves, with prices based on your destination.
    • Unpacking: Moving companies can even unpack your belongings for you after they have moved them. This is not as common, and will definitely increase the price, but can be helpful if you’re not able to tackle this task yourself.

How much does a moving company charge per hour?

When you’re ready to make a major move, it’s time to research moving companies’ prices. A moving company may charge on average anywhere between $25 and $100 per hour, per worker, for moving services. The price will vary with regional labor rates, local cost to do business, and the level of service the movers are providing. Nationally, the average hourly rate for a moving company is $250-$350 per hour. This price includes a range of pricing, from all-in service with four or more movers on site to standard hourly rates for one or two movers. Other factors that affect moving companies’ prices are packing, stairs (or elevators), and distance. For a full-service move, you pay movers to pack your belongings for you. You may pay for the cost of the moving boxes and an hourly rate per worker, and there may be additional charges for packing fragile items. Stairs will also add to your moving prices. Lifting and carrying boxes and furniture up and down stairs takes more time and creates more physical labor for the workers. Moving companies may charge flat rates for flights of stairs, such as $50-$70 per flight. A moving company may also charge a one-time fee for moving things via elevator, such as $75-$100. If parking is not accessible in front of your home or apartment building, there may also be an additional fee for the added distance to carry your belongings to the truck.

How much should you tip furniture movers?

Moving furniture is hard work and potentially dangerous unless you’re properly equipped. For anyone not ready to handle their heavy oak armoire alone, professional furniture movers can safely and efficiently move your items to another room in your house or across town as needed. The national average cost to hire heavy furniture movers is $150-$200 per hour. This rate could include multiple furniture movers working as a team to move items such as beds, armoires, billiards tables, pianos, shelves, tables, entertainment centers and more. Hourly rates can vary by region. If your furniture movers have arrived on time, done a great job, kept your home and belongings protected from scratches and dings, and completed the move as planned, a tip will be greatly appreciated. Moving companies suggest approximately 10 percent of the total bill as gratuity for those doing local moving jobs, which is also a good guideline for tipping heavy furniture movers. If the total bill for heavy moving was $100 and two workers were onsite, consider giving them $10 total, or $5 each for a job well done.

How much does it cost for long-distance movers?

Long-distance movers transport your belongings across the country for you. No more renting a trailer and road-tripping from state to state with your entire house hitched to your bumper. Long-distance movers make the move happen so you can fly to your new home, suitcase in hand, and wait for your furniture to arrive. Nationally, the average price range for long-distance movers is $1,490-$2,230. The distance you are moving and the number of cubic feet the movers have to transport will both affect cost. Another factor in long-distance moving costs is whether you choose to pay for an exclusive move or a consolidated move.

In an exclusive move, which is more expensive, your belongings are the only cargo on the moving truck. The movers travel directly to your new house and deliver your belongings on a scheduled day. A consolidated move is more affordable because the movers transport your belongings along with those of other people, saving them time and gas — which means you save money. The downside is that your belongings typically arrive with a two-week delivery window rather than on a prescheduled day. Read reviews to make sure you can trust the company with your possessions to ensure a peaceful moving process.

How much does it cost to move a one-bedroom apartment across the country?

Professional movers can handle the hard work of moving your one-bedroom apartment across the country for you. You can determine what your move will cost by learning the rate your movers charge per cubic foot and how they factor distance into the total cost. Cross-country movers typically charge based on your belongings rather than apartment size because that determines how much work they will have to do. For example, a studio apartment that is crammed full of things will take more work and moving truck space than the contents of a three-bedroom apartment with very little furniture.

Cross-country movers may also have varying rates, depending on where in the country you are moving. For example, a company may charge $5 per cubic foot for consolidated moves along the East Coast and $6 per cubic foot for consolidated moves from the East Coast to the central states or the West Coast. A one-bedroom apartment costs approximately $1,500 to move across the country.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
