Luciana is deeply knowledgable and clear and concise in conveying knowledge to her students. She emphasizes proper alignment so as a student, I don't have to worry about hurting myself in poses, or even worse, developing a pose with poor alignment. I feel that Luciana teaches the whole practice to the whole person. She has a deep understanding of all aspects of yoga and teaches it all, not just the popular poses or practices. She is adept at working with limitations and helping students find a place that is accessible for them, as well as helping them move beyond their limitations to deepen their practice. I feel that she pays very close attention to each student's body and mind in the practice and adapts lessons to address each student's individual needs.
For as long as I can remember I have struggled with anxiety. But after my first few sessions with Julie, I heard my body for the first time. I learned to assess my cravings and the tension in my body. I didnt need sweets; I needed sleep. I assessed my mental and physical needs. I didnt have to go into panic mode; I needed to breathe. I could feel when I was taking on other peoples stress and emotional tension, and I learned how to release it so that I could be available to love my friends and family more fully but also take care of myself. And that is one of the most important lessons I learned from my six months with Julie: release the negativity, the tension, and the anxiety in order to love my body and nourish myself more fully, and from there experience true relationship with myself and others. Her health coaching program was truly one of the best decisions I have made for myself.
