My house is nearly finished, but there was something missing with the décor and I was having a hard time figuring it out. I just needed someone with design knowledge to run some ideas by who could give me some feedback and advice on a potential wall color change, new area rug, etc. Sarah was very fun and easy to work with and helped me make some decisions that I am very excited about and am confident will finish off my space the way I hoped. Other designers responding to my post had a lofty minimum fee, but Sarah was willing to come for just an hour and her rate was very reasonable.
My fiancé and I are very satisfied with the interior design help we received from 13 Design Lane Interiors. Laura Sabo was a pleasure to work with. She listened and was very prompt in responding to everything. Our living room and dining room were drab and extremely outdated spaces that we were not proud of. As a couple, we just couldn't seem to put our heads together to re-do the living room on our own, so we sought outside help from a professional. After researching online for a professional and interviewing several for the job, we hired Laura Sabo with 13 Design Lane Interiors. Laura helped us with visioning, color scheme, a layout, and the purchasing of all the furniture. She did a ton of research to help us find what we were wanting to see in our living room and dining room. The challenge here for us (on our own/without help)was that this was a big rectangular room which was too challenging for us to blend and balance within the framework of a tradition design theme. With Laura's aid, we were able to accomplish that by creating a well balanced space with coordinating colors, shapes, a focal points. With her help, we purchased an antique red entertainment center, an off-white 3 person sofa, over stuffed chair with ottoman, two swivel chairs, and a coffee table and adorable round side pedestal table. One of our main objectives was to keep our expensive area rug, so Laura helped us to build from it. Now the living room is gorgeous! We also purchased a new area rug for the dining room and chandelier for over the dining room table. The entire rectangular room comprising the living room and dining room is now in harmony. We are looking forward to hosting our second guest event, Thanksgiving, in our home that we are proud of. Laura really helped us stay motivated and on track. My fiancé and I were just not equipped to do that on our own. I highly recommend the services of Laura Sabo with 13 Design Lane Interiors. She is affordable and is careful with her customer's budget constraints. If you want somebody that will pay attention to what you want, hire Laura! Sincerely, Laura
When friends come into our mid-century home, their eyes widen and they immediately ask who we worked with as our interior designer! Marlene is a generous, eclectic spirit and delightful to work with. She is one of the most creative people weve ever met her ability to capture the essence of what you want and make realistic recommendations, for a home you actually can live in, are unparalleled. She has a fun way of mixing elements: furnishings with multiple purpose, floor and window coverings that not only add to the environment but are statements themselves, and lighting sources to properly illuminate it all! Her sketches and drawings are something rarely seen today. She is an artist first and foremost and helps you see what your space will be rather than merely showing you plan view layouts. We were looking for clean, not overtly evident, but asian-inspired design for our family, living, and dining areas as well as a room for my daughter designed around an antique asian opium bed. She understood perfectly what we were after in both circumstances and we now have a beautiful and functional living space, with delightful surprises in just the right places, and my daughter has a room that all girls and most women would envy.
I hired Trish from PDS Design Concepts to help me with remodeling and completely updating my newly purchased 1953 mid-century modern ranch house in Portland. At least five designers (several of them from Thumbtack.com) walked through the house prior to giving me proposals. All of them were really outstanding. Trish stood out with her incredible eye and attention to details. From the initial walkthrough she was seeing things that I had completely missed - and that's one top reason for hiring a designer. I want my house to be well designed - but I'm not a trained designer, so why on earth would I attempt this without help... Trish has many certifications, including being a certified kitchen and bath designer. Plus she has been working in many or all aspects of this field for around 25 years. She helped me pick out the proper mid-century modern Eichler inspired exterior colors. She coordinated and met with the painting crew (ClearView Painting-outstanding) to go over it all. And she directed me on selecting the interior colors. She sends me complete packages of interior design ideas to help her get a feel for what I like and don't like. Then she responds and adapts accordingly. She's not afraid, in fact, I think she is great at discovering my particular design boundaries and seeing how far she should or should not go. Her project management has been fantastic - work has taken me away much more than planned but she is always ready to meet with contractors on site during the remodel. In addition we have gone on efficient trips to marble, granite, lighting and other interior stores to make selections and review options. She is "close-by" anywhere in the Portland area. She is very sensitive to pricing and has no problem continue to bid out work or seek other contractors or suppliers if prices do not make sense and are not fair and reasonable. In short, even though my remodel is still underway - working with Trish is just a real pleasure. If you are very much interested in quality living, in a well designed environment - then I give Trish and PDS Design Concepts my highest recommendation for interior design.
First and foremost she is wonderful! I found Ashley through her Etsy page where I bought one of her fabulous pieces. I'm one of those people that knows what they like but can't quite figure out how to put it all together. I saw on her page that she also does interior design and because of what she offers in her store I thought she would be really helpful in helping me discover my style. And she did! She worked within the furniture/decorative pieces I already had and also helped me find new features for my room. It all came together great and is exactly what I wanted. She was very collaborative in that she worked with me on what I liked/didn't like, taking inspiration from what I already owned and finding new, unique pieces that she thought would work well in the space. I couldn't be happier! And I'll definitely be recruiting her again soon and keeping an eye on her Etsy page for new finds!
I wanted an interior designer to help me to feel at home after my move and AJ did exactly that! I could not be happier with the space she created for me. She is professional and knows how to deliver beyond expectation. I would highly recommend Interior Spaces by AJ, you will not be disappointed!
Working with Jenny from Marlow Interior Design was a great experience. From the initial stages of the design process to the end result, I couldn’t be happier. Jenny figured out my personal taste by asking questions and listening to my wants, she worked with me throughout the whole process. Jenny helped with space planning, picking out décor, and some of finishing selections. She had a vision for the space and an eye for detail and the end result was better than what I expected. I’m so happy to have worked with Jenny and I would recommend her to anyone!
Patti was my designer for a pretty extensive remodel three years ago. She is gifted and talented and has wonderful ideas. I wouldn't change anything. She was an absolute joy to work with and her subs are wonderful. Outstanding experience!
Christina has helped us on two different occasions. She helped us design our basement remodel as well as an outdoor fire pit area. Both times she listened to our ideas/desires and created a few different designs to give us multiple ideas. She's great to work with and will certainly be a part of any future home projects!
Estelaz Interior Designed redecorated my kitchen, living and dining room. I consider myself skeptical and hard to please as Im myself a perfectionist however, after sitting with her for the first 15 minutes I recognized she knew what she was doing to the point that I trusted her enough to pick the curtains for the dining room! It seemed she understood exactly what we liked! Gentle, not pushy at all and moreover, very patient and calm to deal with my wife and I who are very hard to arrive to a middle point without fussing when its about moving things around the house. Ivonne did not give up on us, but rather knew how to use and combine our different approaches, rapidly grasping on our family style and functionality needs to create the perfect climate for our home. One of her first questions was, how do you want to feel when you step in to the kitchen, I never thought feelings would have such an important account in decoration. Very professional, great touch and impeccable finish. I only have good things to say about Estelaz Interior Design work.
Savana is highly skilled and brings a wealth of knowledge about interior design.
When I moved into my new apartment, the space was a challenge - small, but with lots of doors and windows made for challenging furniture arrangements. Add to that, I wanted to have plenty of seating for guests. Sherri recommended the perfect items of furniture and the most optimal arrangement to make my apartment feel light, airy and spacious, while maximizing the space. She is such a delight to work with, very professional, prompt and has a great sense of style. I would absolutely recommend her!
We really enjoyed working with Melissa on our Master bedroom and family room renovation. Her great design experience, and expertise in purchasing furnishings on a budget were appreciated.

In 2007, I graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design and two years later, I earned my AKBD (Associate Kitchen & Bath Designer) certificate through the National Kitchen and Bath Association. I have worked the full spectrum of design including at several design/build firms on high end kitchen/baths and whole house remodels to smaller family-run construction companies with a focus on work where budget is paramount. In this industry, I have found that building relationships, networking with vendors, and focusing on quality long-term partners can generate the best bridges for life. My passion for interior design started when I was young, helping my uncle, a local contractor/home builder on job sites, analyzing the architectural plans, visiting product showrooms, and assisting with material choices. I loved the client interaction and creative expression interior design allowed. Plus, what a fun career! Working with homeowners to create beautiful interiors where they can feel comfortable and joyful is an exhilarating challenge I look forward to every day. My approach to design involves a very collaborative open communication between designer and client. To truly design the space, I need to know a few things about how you live. For example, how many people will be living in the home, how many pets, and low maintenance or green material preferences. As a designer, I can envision how simple, out-of-the-box solutions to problems in our environments can truly change the functionality of how we live. My personal style is transitional, however, I spend a lot of time upfront listening to my client's needs and wants before evaluating what style would be the best fit their lifestyle. I am very energized and encouraged for a great year after attending the 2014 Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) and International Builders Show (IBS) in Vegas and eager to work on your project! Let me know how I can help you with your home! Key interior design tasks are as follows: * In-home client consultations * Auto CAD floor plans, elevations and renders * Putting together color palettes * Specifying materials and writing construction documents * Space layout and 20/20 cabinetry design * Furniture and window treatment selections * Individualized project budgeting and pricing * Design retainer payment structure
I love helping clients, not only achieve their goal, but if the dream or ideas change, I can also adapt to the changes and find something that inspires the client to keep moving forward and understand that design is always about the person and will continue to evolve. Your dream design can showcase the growth within you as an individual.
