She was fantastic!Sep 2, 2017Verified
Can you believe Bev has married me 3 times! Yes! But all to the same man. We had hired Bev to marry us originally on 7/7/07. We planned a small wedding at the Rose Hite Memorial Gardens in Milwaukie. It was held under the pavillion to a small group of friends and family. It was lovely. Bev was very professional. She included a very special part of the ceremony where our children came up and combined different colored sand into a vessel that we could use as a candle holder. We have the candle holder sitting on our mantel to this day, surrounded by the individual different colored glasses of sand that contributed to the final showpiece. We light the candle all the time and remember how special it was when we blended our families. But! Before our 7/7/07 public wedding, we officially married on 6/3/07, which happened to be the anniversary of our first date. It was about 4 days before that day and I was calling to finalize some things for the July ceremony and I asked her if she could accommodate our request to marry us sooner. And she said yes! So off to the courthouse we went to get our marriage license. We each invited one person to "stand up for us" and be our witness, but we didn't let them know we were getting married. Just doing a walk through and wanted their opinion. They were both so surprised! We got married under a small archway in the rose garden itself. Then, on our first anniversary, plus one day, we had Bev complete our committment to each other in a special ceremony that combined Pagen and Christian rituals. We started under the archway exactly opposite where we married the year before, and said some personal things. Then we went next door to the oak grounds of the church next door to complete our ceremony. This time it was just Bev and us two. She was very accommodating to our preferences for this combined ceremony. We couldn't have asked for a better day. And the bonus to all this is that her daughter and she also took pictures for us. She artfully arranged them into a CD and bound photo album for us. Bev is great for honoring whatever you want to express your special day. I wouldn't hesitate to call on her again when we are ready to renew our vows. Kim and Henry SanchezOct 20, 2010
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? My pricing is pretty basic. I try to keep it affordable and flexible. I will perform elopements for as little as $75.00 but the average full wedding package which includes consultation, ceremony writing, rehearsal coordination, wedding day ceremony performance, travel both days and filing of the marriage license ranges between $350 - $400. Often I perform small family weddings for only $150.00. It all depends on the day, size, location or complexity of it.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? After the initial contact and verifying of availability, the next step is usually a consultation to discuss the wedding and ceremony. I share ideas and suggestions if they are wanted. A deposit holds the date, I prepare a ceremony based on what was discussed with the couple. I send them a draft to approve or make changes. I arrive early to the rehearsal so that I can go over details of processional with bride. I coordinate the rehearsal forwards and backwards. I arrive early to the ceremony to handle license and certificate and to share a ceremony outline with DJ and photographer. After the ceremony we sign the certificate and then I process the license with the County Clerk's Office. Often times my clients live out of state so everything is handled by email and I meet them at the rehearsal or wedding.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I formed a wedding network so that wedding professionals in all services can meet, refer, learn, share and improve their services with the help of others. It's called NW Wed Pro. I have also produced two Bridal Fairs. Knowing the other vendors at weddings and being familiar with the venues is important. It can make the entire wedding go smoothly.
