FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I'm a member of ASMP and attend their lectures, seminars and portfolio review sessions. I'm also president of the Associated Church Press, a group that supports and awards journalists working with religious publications.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was a photojournalist in high school and college. After working in publishing for a few years I decided to return to photography - again in photojournalism, now with video skills. I thought publishing would lead me along the path of helping people tell their stories, but it turned into an exercise of how to build a better mousetrap (or booktrap as it was). Working with clients on visual projects is much more exciting to me.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I mix my time between assignment journalism - photography, video production and writing - and lifestyle and event photography and video. While the journalism assignments take me all around the world, I love working with individuals, couples and corporations in documenting their events and products.
