After my PC had the infamous "Preparing Automatic Repairs" infinite loop, I gave Ron a call and he gave me great advice that fixed my computer. He didn't even have to come out to help me, and he didn't even charge me! I consider myself decent with PC's (built the offending one myself), but Ron definitely is a pro. What Ron accomplished in a single 24 hour period would have taken days or weeks for the normal course of computer repair. Most importantly Dell told me I would not be able to recover my data from a damaged Hard Drive and data recovery firms quoted weeks and thousands of dollars to recover what Dell refused to look at. Ron recovered my data, replaced the hard drives in both my and my wife's computers, and reinstalled the operating systems for a fraction of what others would have charged. After countless disappointing, trial and error experiences trying to fix my computer everywhere else. In the end all it took was one visit from PC-Triage. - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?As a rule I do not charge by the hour, I wouldn't want to pay someone by the hour to watch a green line go across a screen. So I charge by the job, most jobs I have done before so I have a good idea what it takes to do the job.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I pick-up and deliver it's part of my service, so the first things I need are a phone number and an address. We decide on a time and I show up to ether do the work or pick-up the computer depending on what needs to be done.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?My education and training mainly come from 60 years of living, sure I went to school to learn computers sadly what I really learned was how to talk computereze, what I say to that is, who cares. I do not talk that way so what was the point? I fix things, it's not rocket science there is no hocus pocus, I like what I do and I do not have to act like some kind of know it all.
