Jason from Steady State was very helpful and willing to take on my project at the last minute. The project was even a couple hours away and he still made it work out. I will be using them for future projects and would recommend them to anyone looking for high quality photos and high quality company.
Stumptown DJ's exceeded our expectations with professionalism, prompt communication, flexibility and creativity. Being a same sex couple and the issue of marriage equality heavily at play, my husband and I were very selective with every vendor we chose to work with and approached every consultation (with every vendor) semi guarded and and mindful of where their stance was in the statement we were making on our day to one another and to our friends and family. Our walls came down upon our first interaction with Matt (over the phone) as he made a point to assure us that he and his company's values is to respectfully support and respect ALL couples regardless of their orientation, without my asking. Matt was incredibly responsive at all of our questions and needs from the beginning to the end. Denis DJ'd our wedding and he was amazing. We gave Denis a few must have songs (outside of the mother son dance and grand entrance), and asked that he utilize his creativity and come up with the rest as he saw fit. The only requirement we gave him was that it needed to feel like a "gay dance club" without the stereotypical Madonna, Cher, etc. His skill in mixing high bass beats while remaining incredibly attuned to the crowd and our needs seemed effortless. Our guests had so much fun that we asked for him to perform longer than originally agreed upon. Denis was very responsive to both my husband and I as well as our wedding day coordinator with high respect and professionalism. We certainly recommend Stumptown DJ's to anyone looking for the a company who provides the most bang for your buck while setting the bar for creating an inviting, highly entertaining and overall fun atmosphere! Thank you so much guys to being part of our day! Best, Tony and Cory
We created a life-long memory for my husband's surprise 60th birthday party and David and the All Requests Live band were a big part of that! They were so easy to work with. The videos they provided really impressed me and they more than delivered! They talked with the guests to see if they had any special requests and I think they managed to perform almost every one of them from multiple decades and various genres. They were very flexible and at the last minute even hooked up my niece's phone to their system so she could sing a dedication song she'd been working on that we had no idea about. My family is not known for cutting a rug but everyone was on their feet and had the most amazing time. Thank you so much ARL!
I have worked with Rob on various projects over the past four years, most recently my own album, and I have to say that he is the most proficient, efficient, and talented engineer I've worked with in my twelve years as a recording artist. His studio is small (a larger one is in the works) yet he makes big & wonderful things happen in there; Rob has great equipment that he knows in and out, and he engineers in such a way that he is always one step (or three) ahead. He is very intuitive and will be as objective as you want him to be. Rob comes as the most highly recommended engineer from me from now on.
I finished a full 13 song tape with the Curator and definitely recommend this place to anyone with the passion to create. I had a blast and was completely satisfied with the outcome of my work Curator Studios is the perfect place to record and has one of the best engineers You could find in the Portland area.
One of the best engineers in the city easy. His resume speaks for itself this man had his hand in some classic music in newyork in the 90s and he still has the skills to pay the bills. He's quick quality professional great determiner easy to work with and He has a great combo off analog and digital equipt. The building he's in is nice and the booth and set up is great for whatever you want to record I'll go back and if you care what you sound like you should to.
aaron is a consummate professional. he's easy to work with & as an accomplished musician himself, understands the bigger picture when it comes to recording (perspective that lends itself well in arrangement/mixing/sonics/etc.) recommended!
Mel is a fantastic producer. Her production is truly creative and unique. She is proficient in her musicianship. Her passion and ingenuity is evident in whatever project she is working on. She is committed to her projects, putting in extra hours to ensure they're just right.
Good engineers tend to either bring a body of technical expertise to the room, or to bring an artist's musical sensibility. Bob Stark is that rare gem that defines the line between good and great: a brilliant engineer whose musicality and technical abilities are BOTH in top form. I couldn't recommend him more highly.
I've worked with Barton on several video projects and he is wonderful to work with! He has a unique mix of technical skills, artful precision editing, AND the ability to work with anyone from little kids to 95-year-olds from all backgrounds. He knows how to make someone feel comfortable on camera to get the raw footage needed to make an outstanding video. I've even witnessed his videos making a room full of hundreds of people cry because it was so powerful. Highly recommend Barton for any project.
One of the most competent, creative, and personable recording/mixing engineers I have ever had the pleasure of working with. My band recently signed with Sony last spring after Nick helped us craft our second project. One of the first questions their A&R rep asked us: Where did you guys record this?
I was very impressed with the quality of production and final mix product that was provided at Big Toe Studio. I recommend them to anyone who requires a professional quality product, top notch audio technical knowledge, and affordable rates.
Good work ethic
Justin was wonderful to work with. I'm a singer and came to him with a few of my ideas, he was able to go above and beyond working with me and turning my pieces of work into full songs. He is a great multi-instrumentalist which was perfect because he put so many fresh new ideas into my songs. The mixes turned out amazing as well and his rates are very affordable. I would definitely recommend working with him! He is one articulate fella!
I have worked with Benard at his home and from hundreds of miles away. I must say both have been great experiences! From recording and/or mixing he has been creative and also receptive to my ideas. He was always on time, speaking of time, your mixing will come back in a matter of days! As far as hip hop goes, in these days versatility is a must and Bernard has that. The quality was always great, that being said I would recommend him for his knowledge, experience, and openness to music of all genres. What could have improved my experience would be a lack of COLD weather in Rochester!

At Top Shelf Audio, we work with musicians, not simply for them. We strive to create a collaborative musical environment that takes the imaginative ideas of an artist and translates them to tape. Many times musicians will enter the studio and leave feeling discouraged because their creation did not come out sounding as they had hoped. This isnât the artistâs fault, but instead the entire teamâs. At Top Shelf Audio, we get inside your head and explain what the necessary steps are to craft your desired product. Think of us as your very own production team. We take care of the technical bits so you can focus on the pure creative process. Whether it be recording, mixing, mastering, production, or all of the above, Top Shelf Audio is here to take you to the top of your artistic ability.
Because I love what I do it shows in my work. Im NOT just trying to get paid off of music Im trying to leave a legacy. Im trying to mix it til I hear what I hear in my head.
Creative recording, engineering and production are all things I can offer you. I can take your unrecorded songs and turn them into something that can be commercially sold through your own publisher. As a recently graduated college student, what I lack in experience and equipment, I make up for in creativity and intelligence. My expertise lies towards the modern rock and roll, hip-hop, and electronic side of music with a focus on fast and intense music. The majority of my recording experience is from classical concerts or recording singer/songwriters. That being said, I am more than willing to record just about anything, including your squeaky chair.
