Angie is a friendly, encouraging and supportive Pilates trainer. She does a great job individualizing my sessions and adjusting exercises to work with my unique body issues (e.g. hyper mobility and hyper sensitivity). I was struggling with a lot of pain when I began working with Angie several months ago. Angie has a vibrant personality and optimistic outlook, which is infectious. She demonstrates exercises and movements, and carefully observes whether the correct muscles are engaged. - What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I am a certified STOTT pilates instructor and I also work as a personal trainer.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I have always been passionate about health and fitness. I played competitive soccer for years, was an avid rock climber and dancer. I broke my ankle in a rock climbing fall and hurt my shoulder commercial fishing in Alaska. This lead me to find out ways to rehab and condition my own body, sometimes for maximum performance, sometimes just to stay pain-free. And so, my passion became my profession. I won’t let you do it wrong, it’s not in my nature. I went to one of the best Pilates schools in the northwest, a school based on exercise science. I also work as a personal trainer with a mind toward proper alignment. I am passionate about continuing education.
