Introduction: I enjoy the vastly versatile world of music. I Play, sing, teach, compose, arrange, and orchestrate. Having a variety of musical experiences, I encourage my students to explore while building strong foundations. I am able to relate to students with various interests and backgrounds. Whether you are interested in preparing for the OMTA syllabus exam, play songs from movies/video games, memorize your favorite classical works, or create your own arrangements - I have something to teach you. I love watching the progress and maturing of my students as they develop a workflow for studying music and develop a sense of independence through guided practice and making their own choices.

Shlomo has been my son's piano teacher for almost two years, and my family and I are very thankful for having him as the instructor to our kid. He is patient and easily understood, and his method of teaching young kids at an early age ~6-7 years old) is both interesting and fundamentally strong. He is not shy to bring his knees down just to talk to the kid, and he is a wonderful pianist and composer as well! He is easily one of the most talented teacher that we have seen, and we are glad to gave him the wholehearted recommendations. My son is entering level one now having completed both prep A and B levels, a and he is having a lot of fun in Shlomo's class (private one on one lesson).

Shlomo Farber has done a great job with our eight year old son for the past two years. He is incredibly patient and interacts well with kids. My son is progressing in piano and is motivated to practice and improve. Shlomo balances classic study with improvisation which my son enjoys. I recommend Shlomo Farber highly as a caring, talented piano teacher for your child.

I commit a weekly time to each of my students and expect the same from the families I work with.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
This depends on the experience of the student. I start with a method book but try to find the student's favorite music and have them learn something they love and relate to.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelor's degree in Piano performance and composition and an M.A. in cinematic orchestration.
