FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Discounts are given for for first-time buyers, first responders, military, veterans, etc. Just inquire.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The client and I discuss any concerns they might have about the home that popped out to them when they toured the home. I explain my process and a little about what inspection day looks like. I love to answer any questions that I can at that time.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
In addition to decades of practical experience, I prepared for the national exam by completing the AHIT training course and the Pillar to Post training. Since becoming a home inspector, I’ve continued my education by taking classes through InterNACHI (I'm a CPI) and ASHI. Also, I attend the monthly meetings of the Oregon Association of Home Inspectors, of which I'm a member. Houses, their systems, and components are complex. There is so much to know and understand about houses, their construction, and components, and new products and techniques are constantly evolving. It is important to keep current. Every two years, the Oregon CCB requires home inspectors to complete 30 hours of continuing education. In April 2026, I turned in 232 hours of continuing education when I renewed my OCHI number.
