FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
$25 for 30 minutes $37.50 for 45 minutes $50 for 60 minutes
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For adult and high school students, I like to find out what type of music they want to learn. We work together to make a plan. With beginning students (PreK-8th grade), I provide a lesson folder and music book in which we build upon together.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA in Vocal Music Education from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa and a Master's in Music Education from U of Texas (San Antonio). My mother was a professional singer and I started singing at age 3 with her. I have sung professionally in all kinds of musical groups. The types of music I've performed are Jazz, Madrigal, Broadway Musicals, Mariachi, Sacred, Barbershop (Sweet Adelines), Pop/Rock and old Standards. I've sung in 3 opera companies and have taught general music and choir to Pre-Kinder through college for over 35 years. I took piano lessons at a music conservatory from age 5-17. I have played in piano bars, served as a church organist, and have been a professional accompanist for many years. I have been teaching piano for 40 years. I currently teach at Chemeketa Community College and PK-8th grade general music & choir at Abiqua Academy (private school in Salem, OR).
