Introduction: I am located in Salem. I teach violin, viola and cello to students of all ages and levels. I also teach sight reading, ear training, music theory and a few different styles of music. I tailor my lessons to the individual. Everyone learns differently and at a different rate, so it is important for a teacher to be able to adjust their curriculum based on that knowledge. Music is about the enjoyment of making art, it’s not a race. I love teaching people how to make music. Watching my students take on the challenges of playing a musical instrument and succeeding is the most rewarding feeling.

Jenny is able to personalize her lessons to her student. I love getting together with her! She is able to critique my work while still maintaining a fun atmosphere.

I really enjoy my lessons with Fiddling around music, because Jenny makes it enjoyable. She teaches her students theory, technique, and how to make beautiful music come out of their violin. She chooses the music for her students according to the songs and type of music they like. My violin was made in the late 1800’s and spent decades in the case not being played. Jenny helped me to get the best sound possible out of my old violin again by recommending different strings, bow, and even the chin rest. I am an adult student in my sixties. I am very appreciative of her sensitivity to the limitations in my flexibility due to my age. You are never too old to learn! Jenny is a very kind and likable person. I highly recommend taking lessons from her. Rhonda L.

I had always wanted to learn violin, but at nearly 60 years old I was told by different people I was too old. But Jenny gave me the confidence to learn, and I was able to actually learn a lot, for being a person who had to start from scratch, I didn't know music notes or anything, she is patient, she genuinely cares about teaching and has a passion for helping any age person learn to play the violin.
