Michael Norton says, "What a great experience! Ben, owner and the gentleman who assisted with our waste needs, was an absolute pleasure to work with. He showed up on time and he was ready to get rolling! He was personable, funny, and made the experience fun. Which sounds weird when it comes to getting rid of your old junk! He was priced fairly and was in and out faster than we planned for! Our job was a smaller one, but he mentioned having a fleet of drop trailers for larger jobs. Based on our experience today, we will absolutely hit him up when we finally get to that remodel we have been planning on. I would highly recommend Waste Warriors to any of my friends and family. 5 stars! Will absolutely use again in the future."See more

Michael A. says, "I don’t usually leave reviews, but these guys definitely deserve one. I had Kryv Built LLC replace my old fence, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. The old fence was falling apart, and now it completely changed the look of my yard. It looks clean, sturdy, and way better than I even expected. From the beginning, they were easy to work with. They showed up when they said they would, kept me updated throughout the project, and paid attention to the little details. You can tell they actually care about the quality of their work instead of just trying to get the job done as fast as possible. Every time I look outside now, I’m glad I decided to have them do it. I’ve already had a few people compliment the fence and ask who built it. If you’re thinking about getting a new fence, I’d definitely recommend Kryv Built LLC. Great people, great workmanship, and overall a really good experience."See more

Alex D. says, "I had a sloped front lawn area that was previously under the shade of some large fir trees. I wanted to convert it to a veggie garden but needed to grade, level, and replace the horribly compacted and root-riddled clay soil. Travis was able to get the job done quickly and effectively. He communicated clearly and was able to work around my schedule. Also, unlike other excavators who bid on the job, Travis not only offered to haul away the old soil, but also took care of purchasing and hauling in the new soil, which made the whole experience very easy for me. He took great care in not damaging any irrigation lines, which was not easy considering I didn't know exactly where they all were. He was also great at offering suggestions to fill in details where I hadn't really thought everything through. I am already thinking about what other projects I have where I could use Travis' services. I would definitely hire him again!"See more

FAQs

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

Demolition services cost $800, on average, with a cost range between $644 and $1,000. Demolishing your kitchen or bathroom may cost around $1,000 or more, depending on its size and the amount of work involved. However, demolishing a house can cost up to $30,000 (or more).

Contacting contractors is the best way to find out how much demolitions services cost in your area. That's because there are several factors that play into the total cost. The first is the size of your house, property or structure. Smaller homes that can be demolished with a single excavator will cost less than larger homes that may require more equipment and personnel, as well as more waste disposal fees. Also, labor rates will vary depending on your region.

On average, it costs between $3,000 and $35,000 to demolish an entire house. Demolition also involves a number of factors that will influence the cost. House demolition pros will factor in the location of the demolition site, as well as whether they’re partially or completely tearing down the structure. They will also charge for outbuildings that need to be demolished, as well as dump fees for disposing of the waste.

If you’re not a professional, demolition work can be difficult, taxing and strenuous — not to mention dangerous, particularly when extensive precautions aren’t taken.

Demolition involves an understanding of structures and how buildings are built. This allows workers to understand the potential consequences of tampering with or removing things like walls, beams and other structures. Demolition also involves the use of heavy equipment like excavators. Dangers include falling debris, explosions, dust and other risks like collapsing ceilings and floors.

If you choose to have your house torn down by machinery, you will need to hire a demolition contractor or company. These jobs require the use of heavy machinery like excavators, wrecking balls, bulldozers and more. The waste will then be scooped up and placed in dumpsters, which are hauled away by trucks. Another type of demolition is done by hand, and this service can leave you with salvageable parts to reuse in another home.

Search for demolition professionals on Thumbtack, and make your decision based on their customer ratings, reviews, project photos and cost estimates.

This depends mostly on the size of the house and the complexity of operating on the worksite. Generally, you can expect a house teardown to take between one and several days. When you’re discussing your demolition project with potential local contractors, also ask them how long the project will take.

Demolition is the act of tearing down a structure, like a house or building. It has its own name because the process itself is a skilled trade. Demolition crews must know how to safely and effectively bulldoze or tear a house down, how to handle different materials and occasionally even how to salvage certain materials from the house.

Excavation is the use of excavators to perform manual work like digging, trenching and tunneling. It also often involves surviving the ground, removing topsoil and clearing rocky surfaces.
