Our team consists of trained coaches and counselors and we will do our best to connect you to a person best suited for your needs. Two of our lead coaches/ counselors are Susie Pitts, CMA, CGS., and Trey Malicoat, M.S., Team Coach Susie Pitts, CMA, CGS is a grief and loss practitioner who has dedicated her life to being present to those that are suffering from grief and loss. "After 25 years of working in the hospice care industry, I have learned there are no time limits to this thing we call grief and you must walk through the layers of pain and suffering and develop tools for creating a new life for yourself. Finding balance with your fears, resentments, and the memory of our loved ones can help us find the peace we seek." Susie will walk with you on your grief path and provide mindful techniques like breathwork, meditation, gratitude markers, journal exercises, and other self-care methods that can help restore balance to your life. It is not that time heals our wounds, rather it is what happens OVER time that helps to heal us. Team Coach Trey Malicoat, M.S. is a no-nonsense, direct guy who understands that it is his job to help you step out of suffering. He uses several clinical modalities including Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, guided imagery, breathwork, Acute Trauma Remediation, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and family systems work. "My objective is to find the most effective treatment modalities to help you address your personal and professional challenges rapidly and effectively. If we work one-on-one, I will do my best to help you build your toolbox for addressing trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship and intimacy issues, spiritual roadblocks, communication problems, and anything else preventing you from creating a life of joy, peace, and purpose." We offer a complimentary consult call to discuss your needs and to ensure we are a good fit for you. Let’s chat about how you want your life to look and feel…then get there. In addition to individual counseling, we also offer support groups that can be highly effective for creating new connections, learning about mindfulness, and how to create a productive, fulfilling, peaceful, loving life. ONE FINAL NOTE: We do not accept insurance, but we are willing to work with people based on a sliding scale fee. We also have more cost-effective coaching packages.

Therapy and Counseling

Susie has been an absolute life-saver for me! I did not realize how much I needed someone in my corner. She responded right away when I reached out to several different people online, and got me in a soon as possible. She’s also been flexible to my life situation as far as appointments go, and I find her very much with every penny of her fee. (Her rate is much lower than the going rates near me.) Susie was able to help me identify underlying emotions by listening and asking very thoughtful questions. (She also provides exercises and often will do breath work or a meditation at the end of our session.) But what I love most about Susie is her serene, compassionate, and friendly approach. Her voice is soft and non-judge mental. After our talks I’m always left feeling more calm, understood and filled with a stronger sense of self-trust and self-love. I highly recommend working with her! I’ve been with well over 15 different therapists in my 38 years and working on my self for over 10, and I have yet to meet anyone with her insight, to-the-point action, gentle honesty, and level of kindness towards a client. It’s really less like “therapy as usual,”and really more like having a phone call with a dear friend! (While sipping tea, of course!— again, her idea…because she’s awesome like that!! :-D ) Thank you Susie for all that you do! 💛

Therapy and Counseling

Susie has been helping me for a couple of weeks now and I already notice a change for the better with myself and in my relationships with others. Not only is she very attentive and a good listener but her tools and homework that she gives me take it to the next level, these tools are what’s helping me better myself when we are not in a session and can /will be used in my life from this point on. Very loving and down to earth energy almost like she’s known me my entire life and wants the best for me.

Therapy and Counseling

My husband has been working with Susie for a few weeks and there is a noticeably large difference in how he has been feeling. He mentioned that Susie makes him feel safe and that she is very kind and gives great advice. Susie, you have no idea how much of a big deal it is, that you’ve helped my husband. He is usually very closed off to people and it’s wonderful to see him opening up and getting help with his mental help. Thanks so much!
Susie Pitts, Anxiety, Grief, Loss, Depression's reply
Alexis, I have so enjoyed our time together. Your husband is now healing his life and realizing that has all he needs to choose wisely for the future. Appreciate you both. Susie

I am thrilled to bring attention to my dear friend and former colleague, Susie Pitts. Susie is an extraordinary and amazing human being, with both her professional and personal life. Susie and I first met while working at a senior living community. Susie and I had an immediate connection and friendship due to her kind and wonderful personality, as well as our shared love for the work we were involved in. Susie is the type of person who can wear many hats and succeeds in the role effortlessly. Not only an asset for any team or business, but also a passionate, driven woman and friend. While working together, aside from jumping in when and wherever needed, Susie was especially great with one-on-one relationships with our residents. She was very loved and needed. If one of our residents was admitted to hospice Susie would be attentive and available to their needs if needed. I recall a time that we visited a resident that would soon be passing. Although I had spent years building my career in the healthcare profession, I wasn’t necessarily comfortable with death. Susie was incredibly comforting to our resident when we visited. I am nearly without words to describe how much it clearly meant to our resident to have someone so loving and warm at his bedside. This particular memory still brings me to tears. Witnessing my colleague intuitively offer spoonful’s of his favorite ice cream, adjustment to pillows, blankets and room temperature, Using healing touch on his feet and head to relax and calm him — bringing utter peace to someone during what I can only imagine is the most frightening moments of their life. This was one of many unforgettable instances and lessons I’ve learned while working with Susie. I am grateful to have worked beside her and learned from her, as well as call her my friend. Speaking from a personal standpoint, Susie and I have shared and grown in our friendship. She’s absolutely one of my closest peers and one of my most trusted. Susie can always warm my heart with her smile and thoughtful words. She’s knowledgeable and experienced through many facets of life. I’ve often sarcastically referred to her as my therapist, but honestly to have someone so grounded and strong to support you is undeniably one of the more important relationships I’ll ever have. She possesses a genuine and motherly presence, while always maintaining her grace and professionalism -- again, someone that I aspire to be like and learn more from. I hope my shared words and experiences with the lovely Susie Pitts are helpful in making your decision. Hospice and everything it encompasses is incredibly sensitive and emotional. If I had a family member passing on, I would absolutely contact Susie for support and guidance. You could not find a more fitting heart and angelic person to speak with about your loved one's needs. Susie is a true empath and healer. I've worked in counseling and social services for decades and have never met someone as compassionate and effective at addressing issues of grief and loss as Susie. She is able to meet clients where they are in their grief. My work with Susie was pivotal in my healing process and I highly recommend her.
