"After 20 years of working in the hospice care industry, I have learned there are no time limits to this thing we call grief and you must walk through the layers of pain and suffering and develop tools for creating a new life for yourself. Finding balance with your fears, resentments, and the memory of our loved ones can help us find the peace we seek." Susie will walk with you on your grief path and provide mindful techniques like breathwork, meditation, gratitude markers, journal exercises, and other self-care methods that can help restore balance to your life. It is not that time heals our wounds, rather it is what happens OVER time that helps to heal us. Team Coach Trey Malicoat, M.S. is a no-nonsense, direct guy who understands that it is his job to help you step out of suffering. He uses several clinical modalities including Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, guided imagery, breathwork, Acute Trauma Remediation, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and family systems work. "My objective is to find the most effective treatment modalities to help you address your personal and professional challenges rapidly and effectively. When it comes to the area of spirituality, my job is to support you on the journey of living authentically, peacefully, congruently, and maintaining a practice that keeps you in the flow of beauty and creativity. If we work one-on-one, I will do my best to help you build your toolbox for addressing trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship and intimacy issues, spiritual roadblocks, communication problems, and anything else preventing you from creating a life of joy, peace, and purpose." I am thrilled to bring attention to my dear friend and former colleague, Susie Pitts. Susie is an extraordinary and amazing human being, with both her professional and personal life. Susie and I first met while working at a senior living community. Susie and I had an immediate connection and friendship due to her kind and wonderful personality, as well as our shared love for the work we were involved in. Susie is the type of person who can wear many hats and succeeds in the role effortlessly. Not only an asset for any team or business, but also a passionate, driven woman and friend. While working together, aside from jumping in when and wherever needed, Susie was especially great with one-on-one relationships with our residents. She was very loved and needed. If one of our residents was admitted to hospice Susie would be attentive and available to their needs if needed. I recall a time that we visited a resident that would soon be passing. Although I had spent years building my career in the healthcare profession, I wasn’t necessarily comfortable with death. Susie was incredibly comforting to our resident when we visited. I am nearly without words to describe how much it clearly meant to our resident to have someone so loving and warm at his bedside. This particular memory still brings me to tears. Witnessing my colleague intuitively offer spoonful’s of his favorite ice cream, adjustment to pillows, blankets and room temperature, Using healing touch on his feet and head to relax and calm him — bringing utter peace to someone during what I can only imagine is the most frightening moments of their life. This was one of many unforgettable instances and lessons I’ve learned while working with Susie. I am grateful to have worked beside her and learned from her, as well as call her my friend. Speaking from a personal standpoint, Susie and I have shared and grown in our friendship. She’s absolutely one of my closest peers and one of my most trusted. Susie can always warm my heart with her smile and thoughtful words. She’s knowledgeable and experienced through many facets of life. I’ve often sarcastically referred to her as my therapist, but honestly to have someone so grounded and strong to support you is undeniably one of the more important relationships I’ll ever have. She possesses a genuine and motherly presence, while always maintaining her grace and professionalism -- again, someone that I aspire to be like and learn more from. I hope my shared words and experiences with the lovely Susie Pitts are helpful in making your decision. Hospice and everything it encompasses is incredibly sensitive and emotional. If I had a family member passing on, I would absolutely contact Susie for support and guidance. You could not find a more fitting heart and angelic person to speak with about your loved one's needs. Susie is a true empath and healer. I've worked in counseling and social services for decades and have never met someone as compassionate and effective at addressing issues of grief and loss as Susie. She is able to meet clients where they are in their grief. My work with Susie was pivotal in my healing process and I highly recommend her.

Susie is one of the most compassionate souls I have ever had the good fortune to meet. The loss of my father was an ongoing loss for several years, beginning with his brain aneurysm and on, eventually to his death. Susie came in to offer everything from resources, to time with him, time with me, and deep wisdom around the stage of death and dying. Her soft, soothing voice brought peace to my dad, and for me, I felt that she could hold me when I couldn’t. She is a tremendous asset to anyone who is involved with a loved one in hospice, elder care, illness, and all the complexities of this stage. I knew her heart was with us throughout the experience and I knew she had my back when I wasn’t sure what to do about a life and death decision. I highly recommend Susie to be a support, an End of Life Doula, and Grief Companion. You will be so blessed to have her by your side. CL

Susie Pitts, Grief and Loss Practitioner I have known Susie for nearly 15 years. From the very beginning of our friendship, I knew her to be very personal and caring of others. Putting the needs of others first is a natural priority of Susie’s that clearly brings her pure joy and satisfaction. Over six years ago, I experienced the tragic loss of my husband. Immediately after my loss, Susie came to care for me in a way that I never expected from anyone. Despite my husband being her close friend too, she had the strength to focus on my loss and helped me understand how to grieve and maneuver my loss while needing to do the same for herself. Over the years that I’ve known Susie, she has experienced many of her own personal losses of family and friends. Her way of processing her own grief is a testament to how she is able to skillfully and passionately help others. As an End of Life Doula and Grief Companion, Susie has the passion and compassion to help anyone cope with the uncertain feelings both before and after the loss of precious life. Susie has helped countless people maneuver the challenges of death and dying. Her skills are unique and I feel they come from within her. She is a sincere asset to one of the biggest life challenges we all face. Providing guidance through grief will always be a passion of Susie’s.
