FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I enrolled in the Carlisle vocational program in 8th grade. From 9th grade on my High school major was Masonry technology. I was presented with the "Senior Mason's Award" the year I graduated. I then went on to The Pennsylvania College of Technology for my bachelors in Construction management. I hold a Weather Stopper certification through the shingle manufacture GAF. I am a certified installer through the Vinyl Siding Institute of America.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My father was a Master electrician and owned his own small business. He started bringing me along on jobs when I was 6 years old. I could wire a service box by the time I was 7. I grew up in the trades industry and have always loved building things. My father taught me the pride that comes with being a true Quality Craftsman.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
*Demand a very detailed contract clearly stating scope of work and materials to be installed. Ask for details of installation to be in the verbiage(ex. fasteners, accessories, materials will be installed to manufacture specifications and carry factory warranties). *Always make sure a contract includes a workmanship warranty. The more vague a proposal or contract is the more it could cost you in the long run. I know this is a horrible situation to imagine but if you ever have to take your contractor to court those written details will be what the judge largely makes his/her ruling on. *Ask to talk to a former customer. On line reviews are great but as we have all become aware the internet is not always the most trustworthy format. Any great contractor should have at least one reference you can contact via phone or in person.
