FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I spend countless hours studying research from doctors as there is now a greater movement to integrate nutrition as part of their patients care. I am also required to participate in continuing education annually in order to maintain my CNW certification.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
When my nephew was a barely a toddler he was diagnosed with leukemia and we were told that he was not going to live. His mother and my brother were determind to find a cure, so they emersed themselves into nutrition and soon found that when they rightly adjust his diet he showed improvement. They maintained the program they had set and soon the doctors were amazed at his rapid recovery. He was permitted to go home where they maintain his healthy diet. The doctors were so amazed that they asked his mother to counsel others mothers who also had ill children. My nephew was checked every year until he was in his teen and he never showed any trace of the disease again. He is now in his late twenties and is still healthy. Going through this experience my brother and I got extremely interest in nutrition from the wholistic perspective, and we have studied it ever since. I was referred to a school where I was able to take a structured program and achieve a MS in Natural Health with honors. I then sought to become certified, and became certified in Nutritional Wellness. This knowledge has afforded me the opportunity to speak in group settings as well as do one-on-one coaching.
