Would definitely recommend Mike. He was quick to respond and did the job on short notice. He was very flexible in meeting our specific demands. We had two mattresses cleaned / sofa, carpet cleaned. Walls and ceiling including all floor surfaces were steam cleaned after a renovation. Mike did an awesome job - would definitely recommend.

Mr. Scott had me at hello. Extremely personable, not that common in today's high tech world. They scheduled our cleaning within 1 day of our first inquiry... on a Sunday no less...impressive. They actually want to please their clients. We had very serious pet odor problems and he and Eddie made a huge difference. They completed our 4 bedroom three floor home in about 3.5 hours. Thank you gentleman!

Glenn removed some plywood from a floor in my house and hauled away another demo'd floor. He took the time to help pull some tricky plywood from my stairs at no charge. He took care not to damage any walls or floors. His pricing was fair, he was on time, and he was easy to communicate with.

Kevin did an excellent job! He painted my cabinets and replaced all the yucky brass hardware with nickel. They look gorgeous! He noticed the cabinet floor under the sink was falling and asked if he could fix it. That floor is so sturdy now it won't be moving for another 100 years. He also installed a threshold between my dining room and kitchen. The tile floor in the kitchen was higher than the hard woods. My company won't trip anymore. I'm so excited. Hire Kevin! He's honest and fair. We have other jobs lines up when the weather breaks 😃

First time using a cleaning service for residential. Reliable was scheduled to come out and clean 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living room, dining room and deep clean the hardwood floors. They were very polite and friendly and were very thorough in their cleaning and use of products. Total project last about 3 hours. Were originally scheduled to arrive between 12-2, arrived outside of that time table. Will definitely use again!

Will has done numerous jobs for us- he redid our kitchen (floor, paint, cabinets, and mosaic tile backsplash), retiled our fireplace, redid our bathroom (floor, paint, and installed new sink and vanity), among other projects. He is honest, fair, and reliable. I recommend him to all of my friends and family.

They did a deep cleaning. They did such a great job! Woodwork, baseboards, floors, vacuumed the rugs and upholstered furniture, moved sofa and vacuumed underneath, cleaned mirrors, light fixtures, and wall hangings, dusted everything and put all my nick-knacks back where I had them. They worked miracles in the bathroom tub area. They brought their own cleaning equipment and products, using only products I approved because of my allergies. And they were really nice. I highly recommend Andrew and Ruth's Cleaning Service.

I was very pleased with the work that Greg did. He was very professional and understood the problem right away. He replaced the dryer duct connector pipe, anchored it to the wall and thoroughly cleaned a great deal of lint from the long duct. A second floor dryer needs cleaning often as it is more prone to lint clogging the duct. Seeing the amount of lint made me realize more than ever how important duct cleaning is for fire prevention. I will certainly use Greg the next time I need his services. He is a very polite gentleman, knows his business, and his rates are fair.

Lamarr did an excellent job cleaning our carpeting. In addition he cleaned some of our throw rugs. He is on time, very professional and offered us an excellent price. Now we are going to have Lamarr clean our stone foyer floor and clean/wax and polish our wood floors. I highly recommend Lamarr for any of your floor-cleaning needs.

By far the best moving experience I’ve had, and I’ve moved A LOT! Mike and the guys were amazing, staying upbeat the whole move, even when I had three floors, a huge sofa, and so much stuff!! No surly hipster movers here! Got the job done in fantastic time. I’m definitely going to use Mike again for other services he does.

In January I had the Rebolledo family do some renevations for my new home. The renovations entailed a master bathroom shower remodel, bathroom floor tiling, painting of multiple rooms, crown molding installations, and a few plumbing repairs. They did a great job. When Jeovonie and his father came to give me and estimate they were very professional and timely. They took measurements on site and wrote down all the supplies and amounts they would need to completely the job. I found this extremely helpful and organized. Whatever supplies I was unable to get Jeovonie got for me. They gave me a two week estimate for completion which was extended due to weather conditions. The work they do is very good but, me being OCD and very particular I did find a few imperfections but, things I can live with. I felt the price was decent. They were also very protective of my wood floors and made sure they sweep and cleaned up every evening before leaving which I was very appreciative of. I provided them with a copy of my house key that they returned at the end of the job. They were very trustworthy and I allowed them to do work with no one home. I would recommend them to anyone and I would ask them back for any other projects I'd like done in the future. Thank you!!

Grout Lines Plus, LLC is such a pleasure to work with! They are responsive, professional, and knowledgeable. I had them come out and take care of two bathrooms so far, that were left in bad shape from the previous owner's of the home. When Grout Lines Plus finished, the bathroom floors look brand new. I will definitely be using them for the other bathrooms.

Terrific folks! I needed my basement cleaned after 17 years of no cleaning. They vacuumed the ceiling, cleaned walls and floor, wiped all items that had mold. They even organized the basement. Air scrubbers and dehumidifier. I would use them again.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How can I get my grout clean?

Dirt, mildew and grime can make your grout lines look downright tragic. If you have the ability, DIY tile and grout cleaning is definitely doable. Your main obstacles are time, project size, availability of the right materials and effort. Your first step in tile and grout cleaning is making sure the surface area is cleaned of basic dirt and buildup and wiped down. Be sure not to use a bleach-based cleaning agent, which could react dangerously with the vinegar used in later steps.

Depending on the delicacy of your tile and grout, it may be wise to start with water and friction before proceeding to a cleaning solution. In the shower you can spray the area while brushing gently, or use a spray bottle filled with warm water on countertops or floors. If water won’t do the trick, try a solution of equal parts warm water and white vinegar, and repeat the gentle brushing motion. This combination should begin to lift dirt and grime from the grout. For additional tile and grout cleaning power, baking soda applied directly to grout lines and sprayed with your water vinegar solution can help suds off sticky grime. If your DIY cleaning solutions aren’t doing the trick, store-bought sprays and pastes may have more cleansing power. Rinse thoroughly after cleaning and enjoy your sparkling clean grout.

Tile and grout cleaning supplies include:

    • Old standard or electric toothbrush
    • Stiff bristle brush
    • Spray bottle
    • White vinegar
    • Commercial grout cleaner

How do professionals clean tile and grout?

If you need tile and grout cleaning and don’t have the time or mobility for scrubbing your entire house on your hands and knees, it’s time to turn to the pros. Tile and grout cleaning professionals have industrial-grade machines designed for the sole task of cleaning the porous materials of grout and tile. Typically, a cleaning pro will come out to assess the job and provide you with a quote. Often they charge per square foot (for example, 75 cents per square foot), with higher prices or an hourly rate for areas that will need hand cleaning. The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Once onsite, the pros thoroughly clean the area by wiping or sweeping down and then vacuuming up any dry dirt. Next a chemical tile cleaner is sprayed over the surface, causing dirt to loosen and adhere to the spray; the industry term for this is “suspension.” The pros then clean the floor with professional-strength machines, which often use a combination of steam, brushes and vacuum to loosen, agitate and lift entrenched dirt. Your floor is then rinsed, removing all the spray. Usually a small room can be cleaned in under an hour. Applying a sealant afterward is recommend and will also affect cost.

How much does it cost to clean tile and grout?

The national average cost for tile and grout cleaning ranges from $190 to $250. Pros may charge a flat fee or by the square foot. Rates can vary depending on the type of tile and grout you have (more delicate tiles may mean specialized products or careful handwashing), how dirty your tile and grout are, and what part of the country you are in (regional labor rates and costs to do business affect costs). For example, one floor cleaning company charges 75 cents per square foot for tile and grout cleaning for projects that permit cleaning by machine. Another company may charge $30-$50 per hour for hand-cleaning of tiles. Companies often charge a minimum fee for services to ensure their business expenses are met when they accept a job, no matter how small. In addition, a tile and flooring cleaning professional may charge added fees, such as $25 or more, to move heavy furniture or appliances.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
