I would like to address some of concerns you raised because I would never want any client to walk away feeling disappointed: 1.) Timing and Communication As explained in our phone conversation, the deposit is not a confirmation but rather it secures your spot. It isn’t uncommon for people to cancel, find another artist, or no-call-no-show despite paying a deposit. I reached out to confirm two days before your appointment and again on the morning of. Unfortunately, I didn’t receive a response to either attempts until 1:37 pm, nearly 2 hours after the start time the day of the wedding. Because I live nearly two hours away from the venue, this delayed my arrival significantly. My commitment is always to be punctual, but the lack of timely confirmation made it impossible for me to arrive by noon. When you called for an ETA, I left as soon as you said you still needed me and did not want to disappoint your wife due to a miscommunication. I showed up and happily completed the service before the wedding ceremony start time despite having significantly less time than I would have had otherwise. 2.) Service and Pricing In light of the miscommunication, I actually undercharged by $75. My standard rate for every client is $175, which includes travel (within the minimum mileage) and lashes. Although, the makeup turned out beautifully, I spent significantly less time on the bridesmaid and it is customary/policy to spend a minimum of 60 minutes on each face. I could not, in good conscience, charge her full price after rushing her experience so the price was adjusted accordingly. Your wife paid $225 for both services and graciously added a $20 tip. The balance of the bridal makeup after deducting the $50 deposit was $125. The bridesmaid was only charged $100 for her makeup. That brings the total to $225. I was not expecting your wife to pay since she did not arrange the appointment but she insisted it would be easier since you were busy setting up. The bridesmaid confirmed that she sent you (or her) the money, so the bride happily paid for both. She was not charged for hair.
