What a fantastic teacher! So friendly and incredibly passionate about music. Michael was able to help me with 2 of my vocal issues during our very first lesson. I'm eager to return and may also take piano lessons from him in the future.

Buck has been giving lessons to my sons for years and we are very happy with him as a teacher. He is extremely knowledgeable in both bass and guitar. His knowledge of musical theory as well as a broad spectrum of types of music is also very impressive. He's always able to find something that my sons are interested in learning, and he is very patient with both young students as well as new students. I would highly recommend him to anyone with no reservations whatsoever.

Karen Schenck is an excellent piano teacher. She is patient and pleasent. She gears each lesson to the need of the individual. She teaches music theory, reading of music and facts about the composer of the music piece. She is able to teach on the level of the individual child. I highly recommend lessons at Rising Stars Piano Studio.

Dan is a great lesson teacher - his lessons are very helpful and you come away learning a lot each time. If you're ever confused about something, he'll explain it in fifty different ways until you understand. Lessons are also fun because it's not all playing, and a lot of discussion is involved when talking about theory. Dan is personable and helpful when it comes to new concepts and improving your technique, sound, or improvising. I truly felt like every time I walked away from a lesson, I was a better player and I was able to apply what he taught me in other ensembles. Dan's really great. Highly, highly recommend.

Mike is an awesome musician and teacher. He is great to talk to and very understanding of your goals. His talents allow him to help you learn what you want to learn. With only a few lessons I feel myself climbing to the next level of my playing. I was skeptic about finding someone on a website like this, but Mike is a great find!

I have had cello lessons with Tara for more than two years now. She is incredibly knowledgeable, patient and supportive. I’ve learned a ton. She both pushes me and tries to be flexible with what I wish to learn. I’ve never tried to learn an instrument until in my 30s and I’ve been so thankful I decided to try. She even worked hard with me through the harrowing process of buying a cello off Craigslist. Tara also teaches my son violin and he is always in high spirits after a lesson, saying he had a great time. I highly recommend her as a strings teacher!

Danton is a wonderful teacher and mentor. He is an extremely talented musician, composer and teacher. He has the wonderful ability to connect with his students and has an amazing depth and breadth of knowledge in many genres of music, including classical, music theory and teaching methods to bring out the best in his students. He is a personable and professional young man with a charming, upbeat personality and has great flexibility in working with you in his studio or in your home. He has been my son's teacher and mentor in piano, music theory and composing for many years and has played a key role in his progression.

I have been a student of Paula Hess for approximately 8 years and she has been a superb teacher to me. I consistently refer her to other friends and family given her professionalism and excellence. She is a degreed professional and has been teaching for over 20 years. She has trained me from an intermediate to now an advanced level via difficult repertoire (Chopin, Beethoven, Debussy, and more). I originally went to Mrs. Hess as my first teacher primarily taught via method books. She was able to quickly accelerate my progress and teach me difficult classical music. Part of her success is due to her willingness to allow students to sometimes choose different pieces for themselves and guide their direction in learning. While some students may want to play show tunes, other students may want to focus on a more classical path. Mrs. Hess is able to make a "plan" individualized for all students. Mrs. Hess teaches all levels; however, I have enjoyed her advanced approach to teaching me music. I started with Mrs. Hess at an intermediate level. She is not a piano teacher who will simply take your money regardless of the student. She truly wants her clients to succeed, practice, and grow. If you are looking for a teacher who will keep you accountable, will truly teach piano, and will accelerate your instrumental skill, she is certainly the teacher you are looking for. She is very patient; however, she does encourage growth and consistent practicing. All teachers should expect this out of their students. In regards to her ability to teach special needs children, she has extensive years teaching children in this population. In fact, some of these students play at recitals. She prides herself on the ability to teach students of this population. As a physician assistant who is very cognizant of special needs children and there needs, I would have full confidence in going to Mrs. Hess. In conclusion, for those who have had other problems with teachers, without a doubt, I recommend Mrs. Hess.

As someone over the age of 40, I had my doubts about taking up the guitar. Three years ago, I started studying with Jed from Creative Music Instruction, and looking back, I'm really glad I did. I studied with other teachers before, but Jed was different in the way he could break down complex information about music theory so that I could actually understand it. He also took time to explore my musical interests in our lessons and has helped me reach several milestones in the years we've been working together. For instance, he helped me overcome my anxieties about performance and recently I was able to play at my church in front of dozens of people. I strongly recommend this teacher!

Zach was my 8 year old daughter's first piano teacher. He made lessons educational and fun, which made her happy to keep coming back and excited to learn piano. I was also grateful for his approach of creating a musical community with all of his students, by organizing "piano play dates" and recitals. Furthermore, Zach had a perfect balance of maintaining the culture and sophistication of the practice, while making it fun and interesting.
