After only two sessions with Allana, I can truly say that this is a transformative experience. I'm a trauma therapist, so taking care of my own mental and physical health is very important if I want to help others. I've actually recommended Allana to a couple of my clients who are also struggling a lot with organizing and decluttering their homes. My mom and I moved into our new apartment seven months ago and we were really struggling to get the place organized. We were both coming off of multiple years of traumatic life experiences and our environment reflected that trauma. Both of us experience a lot of somatic symptoms from our emotions and mood states and we were feeling frustrated and hopeless. My anxiety was constantly in a high state, my emotions were getting harder to regulate, constant meltdowns, and my chronic pain and chronic fatigue syndrome were just getting worse. It got to the point where it also started to affect my business relationships because I was struggling with so much anxiety and stress. My mom was constantly have pain flare-ups, getting colds, and experiencing extreme fatigue. I mean, we were really struggling a lot because we just couldn't get settled in. My mom and I finally decided that we needed help with getting our home in order! After reviewing several options, I chose Allana because of her compassionate, whole-person approach and I knew that's what my mom and I needed. Not just someone to help us declutter, but also someone who understood the emotions, thoughts, and trauma that are reflected in our clutter. Allana is so compassionate and understanding. She gently reminds us not to be mean to ourselves and she doesn't judge us at all. In fact, she's helping me be more aware how judgmental and mean I've been to myself! Allana is helping my mom move further from the pain of the past into the present and future and my mom's spirit is so much brighter! Her confidence is really returning and it's such a joyful thing to watch! As for me, the day after our first session, the severe pain in my neck and upper back, where I tend to carry all of my stress and anxiety, was completely gone. I've been dealing with that pain for months and it was due to my anxiety and distress just being so incredibly high. I felt trapped in the disorganization and clutter and I felt very hopeless and overwhelmed by the situation. Because my anxiety has remained at a zero over the past week, when I am stressed over something, not only is the feeling not nearly as intense but I'm also able to regulate my emotions so much more quickly. Most astounding of all, the skin condition on my hand started healing a day or two after our first session and I was able to cancel my dermatology appointment. Unbeknownst to me, that was also caused by extremely high levels of stress and anxiety, which explains why it wasn't responding well to anything I tried. My mom and I are so grateful for Allana's help and we're actually now excited for the process of organizing instead of feeling dread and fear. And now you see why I said this was transformative!
