Sean D. says, "⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I truly cannot say enough incredible things about Prolific Escapes. From the very first conversation, their professionalism was on a completely different level. Every detail of the trip was handled with precision, care, and a genuine passion for creating something extraordinary. The quality of their work is simply unmatched. They didn’t just “book a trip” — they curated an experience. Every hotel selection, transfer, excursion, and recommendation felt intentional and perfectly aligned. The planning was meticulous, yet the entire process felt seamless and stress-free on my end. What impressed me most was how quickly they put everything together without sacrificing quality. Their responsiveness, organization, and ability to execute at such a high standard in a short amount of time was spectacular. It felt like having a dedicated team working behind the scenes to make sure every moment was flawless. The staff is exceptional — attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in making sure everything exceeded expectations. You can tell they take pride in what they do. If you’re looking for a travel experience that goes beyond the ordinary and is handled with absolute professionalism and care, Prolific Escapes is in a league of its own. I will absolutely be using them again. Highly, highly recommended."See more

Melanie M. says, "WOW - we can’t say enough good things about our time with Sun2Sea Travel! They helped my fiance and I plan a trip to Exuma, Bahamas, and with my never having been out of the country, I was completely lost when it came to planning and organizing the trip. Susie was amazing at creating an unforgettable vacation. I tried new excursions there I wouldn’t have even THOUGHT of if it weren’t for her guidance. She was so friendly, responsive, and accommodating to our interests and it felt like a perfect personalized memory that I will always cherish! We will definitely be back in the future - thank you so much Susie !!"See more

Carol A. says, "Gloria helped me with a two week vacation to Europe with me and my three boys. We went to Ibiza Amalfi Coast. Rome went to the Vatican. Every flight ferry train she set up. When we get off the planes, the train the ferries there was always a driver there waiting for us. If there was a mishap, there would be a driver within 10 minutes. She was on call the whole two weeks while we were on vacation so if we ever had a problem, all I had to do was call her and she fixed it. She got the boys tickets to see their favorite Dj backstage passes. They had a boat day excursion, which was amazing went through all the cliffs. Did Cliff diving. Set up dinner reservations I mean it was flawless. I would recommend her to anyone. She’s honest, very professional. Smart knows what she’s doing and works her butt off for the client that I will say. She was an absolute dream to work with and now she’s my forever Travel Agent."See more

FAQs

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

It’s important to ask travel agents several questions before you hire one. For example, you should ask:

  • How much do you charge for your services?
  • Can you provide a list of all the fees I'm responsible for paying?
  • Do you have any travel destination recommendations?
  • What are some ways I can save money on my trip?
  • What’s the best time of year or month to book my trip?
  • Do you offer travel insurance?
  • Is my airfare refundable?
  • What deposits will I need to make?
  • How much experience do you have?

You can talk to local travel agents by using Thumbtack. Thumbtack will identify the top-rated travel agents in your area. After you read a few reviews and check out their profiles, you can message them directly and/or request a quote.

A travel agent is a professional who handles all of the travel arrangements for their clients. Some of their duties include:

  • Suggesting travel destinations.
  • Putting together trip itineraries.
  • Finding travel packages and other perks.
  • Keeping their clients’ budgets and costs in mind when planning trips.
  • Booking airfare, hotels, rental cars, excursions, tours and more.

Hiring a travel agent might be a smart choice. Here are a few reasons why you should use a travel agent:

  • They save you time.
  • They help take the stress out of planning a trip or a vacation.
  • They can help you find travel packages and other perks.
  • They recommend destinations based on your preferences.
  • They can help you resolve problems that arise.

The main benefit of using a travel agent is the value they bring. They’re experts when it comes to travel, and they can help you decide which destinations you should visit. A travel agent can also help you find travel packages and perks. They’ll also be your advocate if any issues arise during your trip.

However, you may be able to find deals and discounts on your own. And sometimes it’s faster to DIY your own travel plans, especially if things need to change at the last minute.

Using a travel agent to book your airfare and lodging instead of doing it yourself online can save you time and stress. Travel agents have the expertise and knowledge to help you plan your trip seamlessly. And, often, they can offer your packages and secure other travel perks you may not find online.
