Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: *accepting new students for fall 2021! Both virtual an in-person* *fully vaccinated* I am a dedicated, fun, and loving teacher who has been teaching for over 13 years. I inspire my students to learn to love music and also to enjoy the hard work and dedication that comes with being a musician I love the moment when a student understands something for the first time! That lightbulb moment is so exciting, because they are learning not only about music, but about themselves and how they learn. It's especially wonderful to see a student have a breakthrough after working very hard for a long time, it makes it all worthwhile to both of us :) It’s important that students join a musical community in order to help inspire them and share their joy of playing with others working towards similar goals. So I help students find local groups to play with - including youth symphonies, quartet programs, prep programs, or local amateur orchestras for my adult students.

Violin Lessons (for children or teenagers)

Ms. Linnea Marchie is an excellent instructor for my daughter. She is enthusiastic about teaching violin and brings positive energy to each lesson so that my daughter looks forward her session and actually practices almost everyday ( It is amazing). We like Linnea very much.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Prices are generally as follows: 40$ for 30 mins 55$ for 45 mins 65$ for one hour Travel fees will apply, and I will take discounts for students willing to come to my studio! I may offer discounts on virtual lessons as well…I have had adult students take bi-monthly lessons, and I am very flexible to my student’s needs. **unfortunately I am not able to travel farther than 30 mins outside of center city at the moment!**

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

It all depends on the student’s level! A typical lesson consists of reviewing scales and exercises and then working on whatever music the student is preparing. I will assign exercises and scales and even pieces according to the students personal weaknesses and goals with the instrument! We work together to find solutions for problems and it is all personalized to how you learn and what interests you the most

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have an undergraduate degree in violin/viola performance and a masters from University of Maryland where I had a full ride scholarship. I also have a performance diploma from Boston University and an Artist’s Diploma from DePaul University where I received a performance scholarship. Ihave studied with members of the Boston Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, and the Chicago Symphony. I have attended the prestigious Aspen Music Festival with a full scholarship, played with the National Repertory Orchestra as a Fellow and spent summer 2019 performing opera in Austria!
