I really wanted to write a positive review for this man. Unfortunately the experience was anything but positive. He demands payment in full up front, and that should have been a red flag, but based on the positive reviews on this site, I went ahead and paid him. He soon proved to be unfamiliar with basic building codes, like hallways that have to be a minimum of 36 inches and outlets that can't be placed at the edge of a wall, which led to me having to have him redo work, only for the finished product to end up shoddy out of spite. First he built an illegal wall that was only 30 inches wide (notice the 2x4 on the ceiling in the first picture of where his 1st attempt was). Then he replaced it with a crooked wall that made the hallway between 4 and 4.5 feet wide. Then I made him replace that wall and even though the third one is a couple inches crooked, I told him I can live with it because I cannot deal with another redo of his shoddy work, which he said was a result of "foundation issues" (I hired him to fix those foundation issues by putting up posts before he tried to build a wall). Even though he said he would tear into the carpeting to build the wall, each wall he built was built over carpeting. Now I have to figure out how I'm removing this carpet without compromising this new shoddy wall. He did a great job replacing the drywall under a leaky roof that I hired him to patch up, BUT HE NEVER ACTUALLY PATCHED THE ROOF. So it's only a matter of time before this needs replaced. He has half of my electric turned off because he decided to splice new outlets into existing an existing one, and now I have to make sense of this mess (see pic). After probably lying to me about flat tires, he's decided he doesn't want to finish the work, or even return my calls or messages. These positive reviews must be his friends because unless you enjoy having difficult conversations with contractors who don't listen to you, he should be avoided.
